Each year the DNR (Division of Natural Resources) in Utah has a roundup of the free roaming bison on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. They check their health, get a count, and vaccinate. Then they turn them loose again.
photo #1 is of the roundup. You will definitely want to download this one to get the full impact.
photo #2 is of one of the cowboys that participated. All willing participants are welcome.
photo #3 is of Antelope Island taken from the causeway that connects the island to the mainland.
photo #4 is of one of the many other bonuses on the island. (Yes, that includes antelope)
Thank you Cany for your pictures and your thoughts. I still like the iconic that I haven't seen, or ones where I have not yet captured the essence. But I too like the unbeaten paths. Keep on posting!
Thank you jak. Glad you liked them.
As usual with your photos, I don't see much room for improvement. They are both great. Your use of light is wonderful.
No long trip like that. I have done some trips above Flaming Gorge, but mostly below. Gates of Lodore a few times, Split Mountain many times, Desolation Canyon dozens of times, Labyrinth Canyon on several occasions, but Stillwater to the confluence only once. Hope to do a couple of those sections again next year, but it is getting more difficult to get permits.
Thank you Linda fore the information. I will check it out.
The first image was shot near Tower in Yellowstone NP. The second in Glacier NP. The third is the "spiral jetty", a man made structure in the Great Salt Lake.
As usual Earl, your flower shots are magnificent.
Very nice set Donna. Glad you posted.
Lloyd
Wish I were there! Nicely done.
