Each year the DNR (Division of Natural Resources) in Utah has a roundup of the free roaming bison on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. They check their health, get a count, and vaccinate. Then they turn them loose again.
photo #1 is of the roundup. You will definitely want to download this one to get the full impact.
photo #2 is of one of the cowboys that participated. All willing participants are welcome.
photo #3 is of Antelope Island taken from the causeway that connects the island to the mainland.
photo #4 is of one of the many other bonuses on the island. (Yes, that includes antelope)

I like the fact that no motorized vehicles appear to be used. Very tranquil I can imagine.

Yes, only horses are used for the roundup, but the road which parallels the path is packed with onlookers and photographers. Thank you for looking.

Thank you for the excellent info on the Bison Roundup and great images. As a result, I will put that on my bucket list for 2019. My favorite image is the roundup Cowboy

I like the b&w and the owl image most.

It looks like there are more cowboys than bison. Good photos.

Thanks CPO. That was my thought at the time. It seems that every one who owns a horse wanted to participate. I know they were organized into teams of about 5 or 6.
