For large prints I use Shutterfly. I've had very good luck with them.

I had that same problem with my desktop. I brought it into the shop for repair. It turned out that it was over heating. They fixed it and told me to periodically get a canister of air and blow out the insides and the filters and that should correct the problem.

I was using a tripod. And I was also using using an external shutter release. What was going on was taking night photos using bulb and I couldn't get off a single shot because I couldn't get the camera to focus, no matter what lens I used.

I was using Bulb for outdoor night photography. I probably left the shutter open for too long. Thank you. That answers my question.

I recently got my camera back from Canon after being repaired. Everything seems to be working fine except when I shoot in Bulb. When shooting in bulb I cannot focus. At first I thought it was the lens. But if I change lenses it doesn't make any difference. I don't have this problem when I shoot in other formats, only in bulb. Is it something I'm doing wrong? is it an easy repair? Or, do I have to send it back to Canon. I'm not enthusiastic about doing that.

My camera needs repair. As instructed I sent the camera to their repair depot in Costa Mesa, California. And between shipping and repair costs it cost me a lot of money. When the camera was returned to me it worked fine for about a week. And then the same problem cropped up again. When I called up Canon about my situation I was told to send it back and they would take care of it. I ask if this would cost me any money. I was told that it wouldn't because the repair was under warranty. The even sent me a free shipping label. Two days ago I received an email invoice telling me that to do the repair it would cost me another $250.25 for shipping and labor. I called to inquire and I was told by one of their phone jockeys that the work order on the initial "repair" was only for routine maintenance, not for repair. which was not the official order. I'm ready to take it up with the Better Business Bureau. Where do I go from here? I have a big gig coming up and I do need that camera.

When I first started taking photography seriously I didn't have too much money. So, I eventually bought a Canon SXi Rebel and Later on a Canon T2i. But I was limited by the kit lenses that the cameras came with. So, I bought an M-42 adapter and bought some old film lenses at thrift shops and yard sales. And some of the photos I got with those are of pretty high quality even today. Among my lenses is a Spiritone 1:8 f=500mm lens that is quipped with a 2x teleconverter. I recently tried using it on one of my better cameras but all frames were out of focus. I figured out that on the better cameras that the adapter couldn't be flush to the camera frame whereas it could with the Rebel camera. I pulled one of my rebel cameras out of mothballs, set it up on a tripod and attached a remote shutter release to it. I also attached another 2x teleconverter to the lense and shot some frames of the full moon. Surprisingly they developed. I admit they weren't very good but I could still get some shade and detail

I use a Canon 7D. It has served me well until recently. I had a problem with the shutter. It only showed balanced photos for 1/8 of the frame and the rest of it was magenta. I spent a lot of money to have Canon repair it and everything was fine until yesterday. I can't develop these photos properly in PS. I can't download them in LR and two of my photos have the same problem that I had before I sent it in for repair. Attached is the problem photo. I hope that its easy enough to repair so I don't have to send it back for repair.

All spring and summer I had my Nikon D7200 and 300mm f2.8 set up on a tripod facing the backyard bird feeders through a sliding glass door taking photographs of birds coming to the feeder. I took down the bird feeders in preparation for winter and consequently disassembled my camera, lens and tripod set up. When I went to clean my equipment before putting it away I found that the plastic at the bottom holding the mirror was melted as well as the bottom piece on the mirror also melted part of the ledge further out from the mirror (the camera is useless and does not focus correctly). The best I can figure is that the lens focused the sun light on these parts and melted them when I was not using the camera. I have ordered another D7200 camera as the camera is down to $600 new and the repair bill from Nikon would be about the same or more, I base this on work I had done to my D2x about a year and a half ago where Nikon charged me $600+ dollars to repair a camera worth $200.

Too bad. That's an expensive lesson. For future reference. If you have to have your camera set up in front of a window during in-climate weather, make sure you have it in front of a window with a curtain or shade to reflect the heat when the camera is not in use.

Apologies for jumping on you, but details and accuracy can be important with things like this.

That said, I would recommend ML, just read and follow the instructions carefully. I’ve been using it for over 4 years without issue.

Thank you. I'll be more careful in the future to proofread

Firstly you need to be able to read and follow instructions accurately. Secondly there are no such cameras as Canon D6 or D7. Thirdly you need to use the correct firmware versions.
I use Magic Lantern without any problems on a T2i and T3i, and have strong confidence in it. It is not yet available for my 80D, but I would be happy to use it if and when it becomes available.
Precautions? Make sure that you have sufficient computer knowledge to know what you are doing. Magic Lantern is simply run time software, much like an application for a laptop or a smartphone, but if you do not have a basic understanding of the technology it can cause you problems.

The fact that you do not even seem to know the model numbers of your cameras suggests to me that you may not be ready for something like Magic Lantern. No offense intended, but you may need a little education first.

That was a typo. I meant to say 6D and 7D Thanks for the input.

I am seriously considering installing Magic Lantern. I looked at their website and there are features that I can find to be very useful. What concerns me is the highlighted message advising that Magic Lantern will not be responsible for any damage to your camera. My cameras are very expensive, a Canon D6 and D7. How safe would it be to download Magic Lantern to my cameras. Or, what precautions should I take?

I recently shot a bunch of head shots using a Canon 6D with a Canon Speedlite 430 EX flash attachment. I had the flash pointed toward the ceiling at fifteen degrees and every one of those photos had a shadow cast right next to them. I tried removing them through Photoshop to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can clean out those shadows?

Last night around dusk we had a lightning storm roll through our community. So, I shot a bunch of lightning shots using a Canon 6D with a Canon 28mm EF 1:2.8 M series lens. The camera was mounted on a professional grade tripod and I used a cable shutter release. The camera was set to SCN. Some shots I used Auto Focus and other shots I focused manually. Some shots I set to Landscape and others I set to Standard. But the only way I could shoot using SCN was Portrait. and I didn't know of any way to change that. When I looked at the pictures through the viewing screen I was pretty proud of myself. The shots looked great until I developed them on Photoshop and Lightroom. The shots were so grainy and there was nothing I could do to improve them. Should I have used my Canon 7D instead? What can I do different next time? Where did I go wrong.
