Disappointed

I use a Canon 7D. It has served me well until recently. I had a problem with the shutter. It only showed balanced photos for 1/8 of the frame and the rest of it was magenta. I spent a lot of money to have Canon repair it and everything was fine until yesterday. I can't develop these photos properly in PS. I can't download them in LR and two of my photos have the same problem that I had before I sent it in for repair. Attached is the problem photo. I hope that its easy enough to repair so I don't have to send it back for repair.

It appears the original repair was poorly done. If recent attempt to have Canon repair it under warranty. If that fails...time to upgrade.

As others have said it's time to call Canon. You also now have an example image to send them. I was able to open the image with Canon DPP4, whether it is the shutter or the sensor, only Canon can tell. It may be time to replace it, with an upgrade or used or refurbished model. All technologies die eventually, but I would call Canon first, since they undertook the repair and may have a warranty on it.

Have you checked for a bent pin in the CF card slot?

I just took a look. Did you try shooting to more than one CF card to make sure that is not the issue? Did you check to make sure there are no bent pins? If the problem occurs on more than one card, I'm afraid a trip back to Canon will be necessary.

The 7D uses compact flash cards (CF). The danger with them is the potential for bent pins in the card slot .
