I see what drew you to this image. I would like to see you isolate your subject more. The subject really is the gnarled branches with moss growing all the way out to the ends of the branches?

For me, the subject IS the trees; the individual components of which stir my imagination to various images: witches dancing, cupped hands, a large bowl. Not unlike the fanciful flights our minds take while watching clouds. I appreciate your comments Sandra. Thank you! Bob

I think the power line placement in the photo is intentional. And I like the "humor" of it as well as the general composition and colors. It is well titled too.

Thanks Jerry--don't know if Salinger would have approved?

I like the sharp contrast of the red and white. The line between them is very strong. It creates a nice visual effect and the graphic is an interesting and rather curious subject. Could you shoot this without the power lines?

Thanks Sandra. I don't think I could (and really don't want to) remove the power lines with my PP availability (Photos). See the original image below. Thanks again.

Nice composition. Does the painting of the girl have any relationship with the restaurant?

I don't believe there is any connection--the figure of the girl is on another building which is not adjoining. Here is the original of my posted image which clarifies. Thank you for your response.

Weight has been an increasing issue for me. I'm 89 and still walking and shooting. Current solution is Nikon DX: D3300 with 55-300VR kit lens on one body and Tokina 12-28 on 2nd body. I can carry both in an old Tamrac bag for a couple of blocks without collapsing, and I love the ergonomics as well as the image quality of both. If I really want to go light, I put an 18-55 VR II on one of the bodies and that's it. This crappy little piece of plastic is one remarkable 100 buck (Ebay used) value.

The blown-out spot above the left-hand traffic cone, about one fourth down from the top, puzzles me. It doesn't look like what I think of as flare. Would appreciate some insight on this, and comments on the image are welcome.

Graham,
Your India images show concerned compassion and sympathy, and of course, your great artists eye. They're of National Geographic quality. I eagerly look forward to the next ones and wish we could see all that you don't post.

I looked at this .. there was something i liked .. but something that seemed over the top. At first I thought you had over done the post work on the colour. Then I did the download and changed my mind. No . this is a couple of electric boxes on a wall that's been painted grafitti style. I like that .. then I covered the windows with an envelope .. that was it! I would lose the windows. Crop right at the edge to keep as much stone wall as possible, but I think you will see a much stronger image if you do that.

Thanks Sandra. Good suggestions---but I'm troubled with having the one meter almost smack-dab in the middle of an almost square format---and that one vertical line ?? How about splitting the difference and taking out the window on the right----? I'll give it a try. Stay tuned. Bob
