Lightroom's Catalog is only a database of changes you made to images within the program. Your image files are in other folders on your Hard Disk. And, 500 Gb (half a terabyte) is woefully small given today's RAW image size. I wold strongly recommend getting a 2 Tb external USB 3.0 Hard Drive to store tomorrow's wedding photographs. USB memory sticks are not for critical data, you don't want to take the risk. Also, if you and 2 other Photographers are shooting a wedding tomorrow, you very well could have an image store in excess of 256 Gb, which is not a lot for a wedding.
Here is what I recommend: Get 2 ea 2Tb USB drives. A LaCie is $119, a Seagate is $80, a Western Digital is $70. I assume you'll be transferring your images from memory cards via a laptop to the external storage?
