You might be able to find one of the Minolta Flashmeters around used. They were wonderful meters, no longer being made. The major lack is no built in Pocket Wizard transmitter, but that's their only weakness.

The equivalent to the Minolta flash meters are still made, think, KENKO. All of the attachments are interchangable.

I currently use a Fuji Fine Pix camera S4000. never been as happy with it as I was with my original S7000, and now I have an additional problem. I need to use the eye piece to see when out in the sun, but my right eye is being affected by macular degeneration. What is the the best camera for this sort of visual impairment? I would like it small and simple, but not so small that I can't get a good grip on it and hold it steady, and not so simple that I can't take very good quality macro or zoomed pictures, without a lot of fussing around. the older I get the more difficult everything gets.

In the end it's going to come down to personal preference. It sounds like you are using Lightroom and CS5 the way many users on UHH are using Lightroom and Elements. I tried Picasa about 3 years ago and didn't like it, dumped it for GIMP, then CS3.

IF it were me.........

Since you have both Lightroom and Picasa on your computer now, I would try cataloguing your pictures in Lightroom while you still have Picasa and see if that works for you. If so, loose Picasa.

If you already do most of your work in Lightroom with very little work in CS5, is it worth $150.00 to buy PSE 12 to get maybe 1 or 2 features that you may not even use? Plus you're already familiar with CS5.

If I were in your position, I would drop Picasa, catalog and edit in Lightroom and keep CS5 for my "heavy" stuff.

$150 for PSE 12 ??? How about $60 ???

Read all the made up crap from anglia, then, now that it's TOTALLY debunked, come back with (some sort of) an intelligent answer...

Correction: There is a saying among right wing zealots. They say (and this is totally made up): "There is a saying among Muslims: "First [we will wipe out] the 'Saturday people.' Then the 'Sunday people.'"

There is no such "saying" among muslims. You guys need to check your sources.

I see your understanding of Classical Arabic, is on a par with your English reading and comprehension skills..

Thank you for posting this. If nothing else, this thread stands as a testament to the reading and comprehension skills of some of the more notorious right wing posters here. Good job, but now I think you have a far better grasp of who you're dealing with. They're hopeless.

If you're going to talk to "reading skills", might I suggest you go back and take grades 1 -6 again. Your posts in one of the other threads indicate that you cannot even read (nevermind understand) the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States...

DX lenses are the actual focal length marked when mounted on a DX sensor. When they are mounted on a full frame body/sensor they do not fill the sensor. The crop factor relates to (in Nikon) a G lens as it was designed to fill a 35mm sensor size. The crop factor simply means that a 50 mm lens made for film or full frame will give you an image that has an effective focal length of 85mm on a full frame camera when used on a DX. The crop factor relates mainly to us old film heads as we view a scene and we judge what we need. If you never had that mental reference it really means nothing to you. It is what it is.

A G lens does not indicate a full frame (FX) lens. It indicates that there is no aperture ring (G = Gelded")

Bubu, these are all YOUR quotes:

1. They are the best for graphics and photography (actually the best for graphics were Silicon Graphics [SGUnix] and the Apollo systems [Aegis OS]).

2. You sound like intolerant and conceited southerner. (I'm only down here for work, spent most of my life in New England and oveseas).

3. Stupid people like you use windows and loose their temper on very little input.(shame, shame, what language, sounds rather bitter??)

4 .Eileen I am usually polite but dislike trolls.... (I've been around here almost as long as you, don't consider myself to be a "troll", again, a little "bitter"?))

Sorry to hear your only bilingual; have used at least a dozen different OS's; presently 5 or 6 (Sun OS, AIX, RHEL, Windows, Zos/mainframe, etc..). The poster said that the Mac was "the only way to go" or something to that effect. Like I said before, I AM NOT A MAC BASHER...

First I Love Macs. Second if you want to do some PP you have to know which software you will be using and what OS they can run under. Then you have to determine if you can install that OS version on the mini. Macs They are the best for graphics and photography. I use an iMac circa 2009 with 8GB of RAM that is running OS 10.8.5 with LR 3 and several other programs like PhotoShop Elements 8,11 and others just for photography. You may be limited only by the versions of OS and software.

I do not have any specific knowledge of the mini.

Today, there s VERY LITTLE difference between a Mac and a PC (anyone have a 16 core Mac, 3.2GHz, 64 Gigs RAM, crossfire graphics cards, etc). I do, but it runs Windows7 Pro and RH Linux, not OS X.... 4 quad-core Opterons, 8 - 8GB sticks of memory, etc.. Would anyone like to put their Mac up against it as far as graphics and processing speed? Now, I'm not trying to be a "Mac Basher" but you are intimating that a Mac is the only way to go, and the PC is ?????????????????
