CA State Senator Arrested in Missile-Smuggling Matter

A California state senator who advocated gun control legislation asked for campaign donations in exchange for introducing an undercover FBI agent to an arms trafficker and told him how to get shoulder-fired automatic weapons and missiles from a Muslim separatist group in the Philippines, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.

The allegations against state Sen. Leland Yee were outlined in an FBI affidavit in support of a criminal complaint. The affidavit accuses Yee of conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms. He was arrested Wednesday and appeared later in federal court, where bail was set at $500,000, CBS News reports.

Yee discussed helping an undercover agent, whom he believed to be an Islamic militant, get weapons worth $500,000 to $2.5 million, including shoulder-fired automatic weapons and missiles, and took him through the entire process of acquiring them from a Muslim separatist group in the Philippines to bringing them to the United States, according to the affidavit by FBI Special Agent Emmanuel V. Pascua.

Ah, the hypocrisy of the situation. He wants to make legal firearms owners into bad guys and he himself is attempting to make money by illegally selling firearms to the real bad guys.

Oh and it's hit the news like a California wildfire in September! What a mess.

It's a nice professional portrait of the traitor Yee. Odd, though, usually such things are done with an American flag in the background. On the other hand, considering who he planned to help get the weapons, perhaps in the background there should be the black flag of Jihad.

He's a Democrat, helping arrange with terrorist groups to supply "demo" items. (Get the pun?)

On a serious note, a number of columnists have pointed out that there have recently been a bunch of arrests of Democratic politicians, even from Atty Gen Holder's "protected class" (minorities, gay). One columnist speculates that there is a "revolt" going on, with ethical FBI personnel going after criminals despite Holder trying to protect those criminals.

I think Yee's actions are particularly terrible because he was trying to deal with terrorists to help them bring terrorist weaponry into the USA to be used by other terrorists.
