I really like Nikon’s speedlights, but for off camera use, a radio remote is invaluable.
I’m loving my Godox (Adorama Flashpoint) lights.
Built-in radio transceivers and a ton of accessories and light options.
On the upper end for Godox speedlights, the V1 is amazing. Really long battery life.

It’s all I took for a wedding in France last month.

At $110, the TT685 is better on the budget.

The Lithium-ion powered Ving 860 will have you shooting all day on one charge for $179

The X-
ProN Transmitter
is really intuitive to use.
They just came out with the X2 transmitter which is a bit more compact and better UI than the X1, which is a bit wonky tpo use.

I also have an AD 200, my favorite!... supposedly 3x the power of a speedlight in a package not much bigger, and an AD 600 monolight.
Those last two will work with Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus/Panasonic as the built-in recedivers know what kind of transmitter you are using. A Canon-shooting friend and I share.

I rarely pull out my Bowens monolight kit anymore.
I really like Nikon’s speedlights, but for off cam... (show quote)

Bought my Godox VING 850-II from amazon Canon version. First one came dead on delivery.. Charged the battery turned it ON then hit the test flash.... NOTHING! Sent back to Amazon. had problem on Friday had a new flash delivered Sunday and works perfect. Some 2nd and 3rd party stuff is like going to harbor freight, thank god the return policy is good. If I could afford the Canon speed light, I would buy it. Anyway , bless all.... the second GODOX is working just fine.. and the auto zoom is spot on also

If you are going to post/send photo online...Export as JPG. If you are going to print, I prefer TIFF. File size will depend on camera setting and any post work done. Tiff files are much larger. Your RAW file will be non destructively saved anyway unless you overwrite it depending on the post program you use. Online - JPEG (quality your choice). Print - TIFF (also quality of your choice).. That's the learning curve of technology

That's not hunting. That's accidental impact. Unavoidable at times. My dad lived in Colorado, had two come through the windshield. Not at once, separate occasions. Hope your friend gets back to normal ASAP.

Not stupid at all. People get confused. It's like wire size... The example is this, lens wide open at f2.8 "0" lens closed to f22 " . "
f2.8 will let in a lot of light but with shallow depth of field. Meaning less in focus.
f22 will let in Not a lot of light but depth of field is increased. More in focus.
All is a play on light, be it natural or flash....
