I still use Aperture and love it, wish it wasn't going to be obsolete soon. I've never liked Lightroom, or Adobe products in general, but I may be forced to go that route eventually. I'm waiting to be able to use some of my plug-ins like the MacPhun suite or Perfect Photo Suite 9.5 before I jump into Photos, but right now Photos doesn't work with plug-ins so I'm holding off

yep. He was a rescue from a river park as a kitten and he still has major issues with anyone other than us. Luckily, we got him along with an older female who treats him like her kitten, so they are great together.

First workout today for my new Tamron 150-600 at Sacramento's Raley Field for the AAA matchup of the Sacramento River Cats (SF Giants) and Tacoma Rainers (Seattle Mariners) and it passed all the tests! First photo shows Sacramento's Jarrett Parker scoring on an inside-the-park home run, his second homer of the day.

just got the Tamron 150-600 and shot our little Marty (he's four) in the backyard. I'll post some shots from Sunday's Sacramento River Cats game tomorrow.

I still use Aperture because of is superior cataloging capabilities, and plug-ins such as the MacPhun suite and Perfect Effects 9.

I love the expressions of the kids at this event on the American River just below Nimbus Dam in Sacramento. About 90 first-graders from a nearby school spent several hours learning what it's like being a biologist

Caught this yesterday while doing a shoot on the American River, at the base of Nimbus Dam near Sacramento. What a view!

the Sigma version of the 24-70 2.8 is about half the price of the Canon, so you might give that a whirl. It's what I have.

With grandkids involved in numerous indoor sports, volleyball, basketball, wrestling etc. I find myself wanting a fast medium zoom. First thought is the Canon 24-70 F 2.8. Really pricey, but we are talking grandkids, plus I can see a lot of other uses for it.

Any thoughts? Anyone have a personal review?

the lighting was pretty bad, but I had a couple of fast lenses. When I had it on auto ISO, it would bump to 6400 which produced a lot of grain. I liked it better in the 4000 range and then I was able to clean up the noise in post-processing

thanks everyone. I was playing with a couple of new lenses -- a Sigma 24-70 2.8 and the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS USM II. Both get a big thumbs up from me

I shot these Monday night of Bob Seger at Sacramento's Toyota Arena with a Canon 50mm 1.8. The shots were from my seat, which was very good that night. Camera was the Canon SLR1. Combined, this was a very unobtrusive camera/lens combo that easily made it into the arena.

yes, media outlets have much more control over staff and that's always preferable. But if your staff wasn't on scene and it was over by the time your folks could get there, you'd take what you could if there was news value. That's the bottom line. If there's news value and especially if it's an exclusive, and you held firm, they will pay, believe me.
