Very nice, both the carving and the shots.
I've been a woodworker sinc 1974 and I wish I could do that!
Thanks Bruce, for your comments. Keep at it and just have fun with the wood stuff!
My latest carving, just completed today. The Penguins are carved from Butternut, and the "ice" is a piece of American Holly.
I've had my black background set up for a while now practicing some shots, so I thought I'd keep using it while I can and share this with you.
Canon 7dII and the 24-105.
Enjoy!
WOW! Those are gorgeous! We've had some beautiful sunrises and sets over in these parts, but I've never been where I can get the shots. Really nice!
Wow! Such awesome sight, awesome shots!

It is most likely IR flash. Along with that, the shutter speed is 1/20 sec. That would cause the effects you see here, blurred figure, eye reflections, etc.

What Bob said. I agree. Seems as if you may be thinking this trail cam is gonna give you a shot similar to a DSLR would do if using one with a flash.

mrova, very nice, colorful and clean cuts. Are they hand carvings or wood turnings? The finials on both are very good. I struggle with these type of turnings.
I like them both as a piece and as a photograph!
Dave
Thanks, Dave, for commenting! These are woodturnings, and specifically, these are hollowforms. Both turnings are hollowed out through the small opening at the top. The red one is about 6" in diameter. Woodworking is my therapist that actually pays me (sometimes). It allows me to stretch my photography a bit because I really wanted to learn to take decent photos of my work.

The dog looks so REAL!
Yup, RaeRae, Little Bit is the real deal...a little rescue dog. She's awesome but too dang wiggly for this photo shoot!

Good quality shots.
Thank you Jerry for commenting!
I've enjoyed seeing some of the photos of others who have posted about their woodworking carving interests. Woodworking is my serious hobby - and therapy - that has allowed me to continue to play with my less serious hobby of photography.
Recently, I created a studio in my dining room, using two flashes, left and right, Canon 7dII, 24-105 lens, and a black velvet backdrop.
Still learning so much... Enjoy and as always, C&C is welcome cause ya'll are the greatest teachers and I am a so-so learner!
Cherry Bomb. Some call it the apple. Notice the window? And the dining room light?

Litte Bit, the shop dog. What's woodworking without a dog? What's a photoshoot without a pet?

I like hawks, and I like these shots!
That is awesome! Nice carving, nice photo! As a woodworker/carver, I need to give this a shot! Thanks for the inspiration!
