I just looked at prices of microscopes, I think the $2,000 price tag might be okay for this

Very nice, but you're not going to just go to the beach, grab a hand full of sand and get this. These pictures represent weeks (possibly months) of sorting through sand under the microscope to find individual specimens to pull out and place on a slide. Most (99.9% - estimate) grains will look like broken pieces of glass.
