eBay, really? Adorama is an established company with good customer service and return policies. With eBay, you take your chances, especially with PayPal. Would not give up on Adorama over $11.25 in favor of eBay. This is just my opinion but to me your decision does not sound like a wise choice.

This is called COVER YOUR ASS. In today's world, people are so sue happy, companies place all kinds of warnings because common sense is not common anymore.

Examples

1: Nikon Binoculars have an orange sun sticker, warning user not to look at the sun.

2: Bought girlfriend an electric hair dryer which has a sticker warning user not use use hair dryer in shower.

3: Was spraying roses for bugs and the bottle on insecticide's label warns user not to drink contents.

and the list goes on and on. Maybe all warning labels should be removed ..... the problem would solve itself.

Glad to hear I got a great deal. One thing is for certain, I will never go back to aps-c after experiencing full frame. Even if the D700 is 10 years old.
The 1.5 crop factor is not worth losing the better color, better dynamic range and better low light performance of a full frame sensor.
So far I have managed to shot in a low light restaurant hand held @ ISO 6400 with nice results and almost no noise. DxO removed what little noise there was.
At ISO 3200 and lower there is no noise I can see.

I went ahead and bought the Nikon D700 for $490.

I came from a Nikon D300. The D700 may look like the D300 but the performance of the D700 is far superior. Better colors, clarity, low light performance with little to no noise and the full frame sensor gives me a wider photo. I will never go back to APS-C and would gave gone full frame a long time ago had I know what I know now. I am amazed at the difference.

PS The D700 looking like my old D300 saved me from learning a new camera. With a couple of extras in the menu the D300 does not have, the D700 operation is essentially the same as the D300.

Finding a barely used D700 in like new condition with just over 11,036 shots from the original owner for $490 was, too me, the deal of the year.

Got an opportunity to pickup a Nikon D700. Camera is in mint condition, original box with everything which came with it from the original owner.
Camera was used as a backup and has 11,182 shots. I have tried the camera and it appears to function correctly. I will be using it with my Nikon 85mm 1.8D lens.
I already have compact flash memory.

Gentlemen is asking $490. I would like some feedback as to the price? Reasonable?

This would be my first full frame camera.
