Interesting images. I lived in Colorado for many years and never knew this was here. 3 years is a long time to live in an internment camp! Thank you for posting :)

I'm not sure what you mean by "The field"? I live on 13 wooded acres filled with wild life. I have farms all around me with hundreds of acres. I do take short 6 mile trips to a lake populated by eagles. Everything I do is practicing; the lens is new to me. I'm not going to take this lens on a plane to Yellow Stone Park or the Tetons. I put much smaller lenses in my backpack for long trips. I do have plans to take this lens with me on a motor trip to the Northern part of the state to Photograph Elk (In the field). I like the way this lens can throw the background out of focus.

All the three attached photos attached here were taken today out my window, using the 600mm lens.
I'm not sure what you mean by "The field"... (show quote)

Sounds like a wonderful area to live and that you are in "the field" everyday. Have fun with the new lens.

Isn't there any image degradation shooting through a window? With all the concern about filters and tele converters adversely affecting the end result I would think the last thing you would want would be a window in front of your lens. And then you are restricted to what birds come to you - is this the practice setup until you go into the field?

Thank you!

I think I recall that you have the same camera and lens!

The photo of the seal with his nose in the air is a Lightroom "frame grab" from a short 4K clip. I printed it to 13x19 for a tour on my photo wall.

I do :) And I sent you a private message.

The land is turning back to its natural state- arid. What a change from a month ago!

One of my favorite birds and you captured it well! These can be very ferocious birds when protecting their nest/ young. I have seen them gang up a Great Blue Heron that got too close and chase it off.

The filters add more dimensionality and pop to already nice images.

And you know, you don't have to justify your purchase to anyone (except maybe your spouse). Have fun with your new gear!!!

I had the Fuji X-T20 for a week with the same lens. Actually the lens was pretty good. I didn't really need that focal length but like you said it was only 100.00 more and well worth that many times over. Enjoy.

I too can't speak to the X-T10 but I did have the X-T20 for a week and returned it. Too little, buttons too close together, awkward to hold, even the small 23 mm f2 lens made it top heavy but the images were great! I traded it in for the X-T2 which is a much better fit. Maybe something to think about.
