Nice, sharp images. Tried that lens on my camera at the Big Photo Show here in L.A. Couldn't believe how light it was considering the size. Fast and quiet focus. Price a little too much for me so I bought the Tamron 16-300. That, too, was fast and quiet and the few pictures I shot were sharp.
That 8 year old has taken better pictures then some adults who profess to be a photographer. You must be one proud father.
I attended the "Big Photo Show" at the L.A. Convention Center. Manufacturer's displayed their photo equipment which could be bought from the photo stores at the event. (no sales tax if bought there). Demonstrations, lectures, model shoots which the instructor gave advice as to what camera setting to use. If you were lucky, you might be able to squeeze in the crowd and get some shots. Here are some I managed to get. Exposure settings were set at ISO:3200. Manual exposure at 1/125 at anywhere from f4 -5.6. I treated myself buy purchasing the new Tamron 16-300. Very fast AF, quiet and lighter than I thought and best of all, lens dose not creep.
nicksr1125. Thanks. Love that car, too. But at $1,350,00.00 it is a little out of my price range. Anyway, all the cars are in perfect running condition. Lots of automobile museums out here in So. Ca.
jerryc41, thanks for the positive comment. Where in the Catskill Mts? I used to visit in that area in the late 40's through the early 70's. The Concord and Grossingers and other hotels in that area. A long gone era.
bcheary, thanks for the Two Thumps Up.
mawyatt, VR, VC, IO, IS. A must if you intend to shoot at a slower speed hand holding a camera. I don't use a flash(most places don't allow it), so I increase the ISO anywhere from 1600-3200. Normally use 400. BTW, I have been to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and the Udvar-Hazy Center. Great places to visit if you are a aviation buff.
Museums, whether air or car are a get place to shoot pictures. Used available light at Nethercutt Automobile Museum. All pictures were shot with a Sigma 10-20 f3.5 using my Canon 50D
Thanks, Don. I'm really impressed with this lens especially when you shoot in close areas.
You know I'm having fun, Kingmapix.. Do lots of shooting in air museums and auto museums. Hope to see yours soon enough
Great shot gemlenz. That 10-20mm is sharp and makes great effects shooting close.
Thanks Bigtex. I love using that wide angle lens
I appreciate your positive remarks.
Thanks, Bob. Something about old aircraft...classic, like old cars.
I had a love of airplanes since I was a kid, going back, what seemed like eons ago, but years after the Wright Brothers. Here are a few shots I took using my Canon 50D with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens. Love that lens in close areas.
