These photos were taken over 3 days by an 8 y.o. that thought he was in heaven. It was the worlds largest playground as far as he was concerned. Please do not critique the photos, we have had some discussions on how to improve photos and he's only 8. We are working on photo composition and what makes a good photo. He was so excited I think he photographed the entire park. A great experience for him. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone one that was there and made the kids feel included. He was one proud little boy to show his mom his photos. He was using a Nikon D70.
A special thanks to Dave for setting this whole thing up and putting it in motion.

For an 8 year old I would say he did a very good job. Everybody has to start somewhere.

I'd say he deserves his own UHH membership. You must be quite a proud papa.

He needs to go ahead and apply to National Geographic.

I really like the first one.

Not a critique, but a challenge, if he is interested: can he say why he likes the photos he likes?

From my perspective this young man has developed chops beyond those of more than a few beginning adults that I've had in classes and workshops. He demonstrably has a sense of using foreground, middleground and background/sky to relative and best advantages in composition! His excellent images are also testimony to the more-than-competent and loving age-appropriate mentoring he has received from his dedicated mentor! He demonstrates both an eye and complementary basic technical abilities that have put him on a fast-track to advancement!
Kudos...big time!

I was there and think that young man did an excellent job taking pictures. A compliment from Uuglypher isn't to be taken lightly. Thanks to him for the classes he put on and I enjoyed the trip and people I met there immensely. I'm going back to the Badlands, maybe in the fall this time.
