Thanks to everyone who provided feedback about selling gear to MPB. They honored their very fair offer for my Nikon D5200, and payment reached my account within a week of their receipt of the camera. I am very happy with the outcome.
Great! Glad everything worked out to your satisfaction. I have always recd the best offers for photography items from mpb.com.

Bill, if you noted the portion of the article addressing "It’s your job to record the world as it is, not as you’d like it to be", you'd have noted that it was in reference to editorial and journalistic photography. To which that quote is completely correct.

You are correct. I don't know how many responders missed this.🤦

We had one of them pass through our back yard early in the morning, a couple of times last week.
Haven't seen it since, thank goodness.

I don't have any problems with the Cycle of Life via Nature... MY comments were about how to best artistically capture and share such moments. YOU seem to ignore this criticism and want to revert to an explanation of the necessity of the cycle of life in nature. Birds of prey kill for food, taking overly close images, doesn't appeal to my artistic presentation of Nature.
As photographers, WE make decisions as to what is worthy of capturing and sharing and what does NOT display Nature in the best light... I love taking images of EAGLES, but I don't display the photos of an Adult eagle carrying off young goats to their doom... have seen many such images online. YOU apparently are attracted to and enjoy capturing such images... best you can... I am not at all enthused with these types of images and SO we thankfully travel on different roads. Happy Trails to you... God Bless ...adios

You assume to know what I am attracted to and what I like to capture. You have never seen an image posted on UHH by me, like the type we are discussing.
But you know, photography like mother nature is not always pretty. And that is what makes it interesting.
I'm the type of person that likes to see all different sides of things, not just the nice or pretty ones.
Some people like to go through life wearing rose colored glasses, I'm not one of them.
And if everybody traveled the same road, it would be a pretty boring one.

Some people use heads on their monopods, some don't.
If you don't you're restricted to landscape orientation.
I have a little ball head on mine for portrait/landscape orientation. Could have purchased a tilt head.
Never could understand why someone would use a tilt-pan head on a monopod.
The style of head is like a camera bag, depends on how the
user desires it to be used.
I guess you just don't understand the efficiency of using a tilt head. Almost all movements except vertical can easily be achieved by moving the monopod. Why complicate it by using a ball head?
A head like this is all you need for a monopod.

Having a camera for 55 plus years. I don’t let the camera tell me how to take a picture ! I tell the camera how I want to take it !
What if it doesn't want to co-operate?
Do you smack it around a bit until it listens?

Good captures of an every day event in nature. The Hawk has to pursue the type of food it is genetically programmed to eat. Mother Nature is not always pretty.

Yes, that is one of the better photos I have seen that has been converted from B&W to color automatically by software.
Most programs I have seen that do this leave a lot to be desired.

Looks like it works pretty well.
