Hmmm the winder went out on my Maxumm too. It still works and the film does advances too. I tried removing the film from the camera open the spool and rewind by hand in complete darkness and it worked. Gonna experiment with using the Maxumm for black and white portraits

I do shoot some freebies for close friends and charities and such however, if they were going to bring in other photographers for pay why not you too?? I probably would have left.

Really interested in the fine tune you do. Is it difficult to do? How much does the dock cost?

Thanks guys for the input I am pretty much sold on it. Have read that auto focus issues is it's weakest feature.

Hi Hoggers looking for you expert advice again. I shoot with a Nikon D7100. I shoot parties. events, dancers in parties and clubs a lot. Up until now I have tried 18-55, 35mm and 18-140mm. I need a really good zoom to use in tight spaces that work well in low light. The 35 gives me no flexibility and the 18-140 not great in low light and I want a better lens than the 18-55. I have been looking at the Sigma 18-35 and now looking for any feedback. The reviews look good so far. Thanks for any help Hoggers

Glad you had insurance and got a replacement. I had some of my gear stolen out of my car at home and it was covered by our home insurance. I submitted $2600. After $500 deductible I got $2250 back. They valued my stuff higher than I did. Everyone should have insurance, you just never know.

No the warranty does not cost anything. I get most all my gear refurbished and new from Cameta. I don't buy used stuff unless I can try it out myself. Bought a used Nikon 200mm on Ebay that was advertised as good condition and the damn thing does not even work. Learned my lesson.

I have my camera body (Nikon D7100) new and 3 of 4 lenses are refurbished and they have worked out fine. I got the refurbs from Cameta Camera. They give you a 1 year warranty vs the others 90 days plus you have an option to buy an extended warranty

What are you talking about emotional?? Lack of understanding? All I want is info on the lens not for you to analyze about something you don't know. Have you used the lens or not???

The 300 yes I have been researching the different 300 for some time and came close to buying one and the best teleconverter
I could find/afford until I found the 400 read a lot about it so I was looking for someone who has or had the 400mm f5.6. Gotta make a decision quick.
