I would love to see how the Sigma compares to my Tamron 150-600.

I think I was Emulsion or Affinity Pro. Both are $50 and have free trials

thanks all. This is where many of my shots end up. I don't get paid, but this is the second year I have a full-season press pass and am getting fantastic experience.

if you're a SF Giants fan, good news, in that former ace Matt Cain looks ready to return to the Giants for the first time in the 2015 season (I'm a Dodgers fan myself). Cain recently completed two rehab starts at Sacramento's Raley Field; these shots were from his first appearance on June 15 against Fresno (Houston affiliate). All were shot with a Tamron 150-600 on my Canon 7D.

The last shot is of a local (Yuba City) kid, catcher Max Stassi, facing off against Cain.

I want to like Lightroom -- that's where all the support seems to be -- but can't get away from Aperture and it's ease of use. It organizes the way I want to organize; LR just seems cumbersome and a mess. Also, I just did a slideshow for a friend and used Aperture for the first time and it was by far the best slideshow program I've used. Why did Apple have to kill it off?

I played a lot of baseball, well into my 40s, but never could figure out how it was faster to slide into 1st base . . .

I caught this sequence today at Sacramento's Raley Field. Despite a great play by the shortstop, the runner was safe. fyi, the first baseman is last year's playoff hero Travis Ishikawa, whose walkoff three-run homer put the SF Giants into the World Series. He's back in the minors. That's baseball!

Does anyone have any experience or know about the tamron 150-600 f5-6.3 lens. If so, please tell me about it. Does it get good sharp pictures? Is it close enough for some wildlife shots as in national parks? If you were unhappy with it please tell me why and what lens would be better? Thanks for your help.

the famous statue brought to Treasure Island from Burning Man, is scheduled to be removed any day. It was still there on Saturday, however. It's a stunning piece of art, for sure. This is a recent San Francisco Chronicle story on it.

There's one tiny spot on Treasure Island where you can get this shot and an instructor for a photo class in Sacramento was nice enough to drop us off (and then drive back around 15 minutes later) so we could capture this view that not many are able to get.

I haven't tried it with the Tamron. I just felt once I got the 150-600 an extender for my 70-200 wasn't needed.

Steve, I had a similar issue with the Canon 1.4 and 2.0 extenders and the Tamron 150-600. I purchased the Kenko 1.4 abd 2.0 Pro 300 DGX models and they work very well. They also stack, which the Canon's would not do. If you are concerned with quality, look at my posts and Brucew29 posts under astrophotography, we both use a similar set-up and stack the 1.4 and 2.0. If you're looking for a 2x extender for your Canon EF lens at half the price of the Canon version, the Yongnuo clone is worth checking out. It worked great on my Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, but I recently purchased a Tamron 150-600 so the extender isn't needed. I'm asking $179, with free shipping, and it's going for well over $200 online if you can find one that ships out of the U.S. I prefer PayPal, but other methods of payment can be negotiated. Reviews of this lens have been very good.
