My first camera was a Konica rangefinder purchased at EJ Corvette in 1963. It was followed by 2 Pentax SV's from a Canadian PX in Germany in 1967. I inherited 2 Nikons, a Rollie and a Leica M2 from my dad but primarily shoot a Nikon D600.
Good "stuff". Spent a lot of time up there. Makes me lonesome. My be time for a road trip.

I grew up in Dearborn & remember the unique look of the "retractable hardtop" with its long rear deck. Here's a link to other retractables - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retractable_hardtop
I bought a 2011 BMW 335i convertible last year (they don't call it a retractable). Great car but with the top down limited trunk space.
I got a Rolex for $120.00 at a Canadian PX in Zweibrucken W Germany in 1968. It still looks great & keeps great time. Do I need it & would I pay $3500 up today? Probably not. I'd buy a D850.
Loved it and anything that Kubrick directed. In 1970 I was working for University of Detroit Television. Among our many duties was to provide 16mm rental films periodically to the residents of the dorms. One of those films was “2001 a Space Odyssey”. I liked it so much I took the 16mm projector, cinemascope projection lens and 2 cans of film to our upper flat in Dearborn Michigan and projected it on the wall in a format that would probably be equivalent to a 65” TV. Mind blowing to say the least.
The only thing I have from the TR is the hammer for the knockoff wire wheels.
Love the pics. Great memories of the 3000. I had a HS bud in Dearborn who had one in the late 60's. He wishes he still had it.
As to the Spitfire. I think it is actually a 1957 Triumph TR3. I had one in 1963. You don't have a side or front shot, but the "bumpers", fuel filler cap and instrument panel are just as I remember the TR3. My TR was a pile of Bondo, an electrical mess it ruined it for every other car I drove until I got a 2003 Z4.
I was in a photo unit (69th Signal) Kaiserslautern in 67-68. We went in two groups to Wetzlar. I suspect you went on your own because we weren't given the photo opportunites you had...unless you were one of our rebels. Any chance you were one of us. Either way I like the photo.
I always heard How do you find a vegan at a party? Don't worry. They'll find you."
Unless you are spending extra time in Budapest & Prague on your own, the shore excursion guides will keep you busy and not give you time for tripod shots. It's a different but good experience. I would also forget the laptop. You want to be able to enjoy the beer, the food & the boat not spend time in a cabin editing. We are doing a cruise in May. Taking a new 24-300 Nikor and a14mm.
It's not even 6:00 am and already I'm laughing.
