Pretty place. I thought the govt shut it down. :-)

The road is still open but all business facilities are shut down, even if they are privately owned.

I live in the southern part of the state so don't get to see much of the upper western coast. Even though I was born in Portland my family lived all over the state but never in that area. I will make it a priority now to visit Camp 18.

It WILL be worth the drive!

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!      My wife has been up there visiting her Aunt several times, I just never dreamed of an area like this except on travel shows. Just cannot say enough so I'll be quiet now :-D :-D :-D Oh yeah....almost forgot to add.........I really like the dog :-D

That's Mackie, he is by far my best and most loyal friend and companion. I was extremely sick and almost bed ridden a couple of years ago and he would not leave my side.
I have found several places up in BC, Canada that are comparable to Oregon. They are my second favorite place in the world. (I've had the good fortune to travel around this planet once and have seen a bunch of it while traveling, but I just love it in the North West, even the rain!)

My first trip to Oregon....absolutely fantastic place. Camp 18.....oh yeah, I'm a "player" on that place. The pancakes beat me but I will return someday for ANOTHER 3 stack challenge      You live in a target rich environment for photography.............. :-D :-D

Yes it is target rich. When we first moved to Oregon and were asked what is was like, I simply described it as a place that offered a beautiful view and when you turned your head it was just another view that was either a post card or picture on a calendar.

I thought everybody in Oregon knew about Camp 18! Great place to eat and visit. Not unusual at all for the place to be really crowded on weekends and have to wait 30 or 40 minutes to get a seat.
Yes it is a Stellars Jay, they are plentiful in the forested areas. I'm also starting to see more and more in the cities. (Never used to see them in town at all) They have a pleasant sound unlike the Scrub Jay that is plentiful in populated areas.

You only need to 'back up' the files you have been adding things to. ie-photos, music, documents, etc. Doesn't make any difference what operation system you have.

Put it in the freezer for a couple of hours. It will peel off ok when frozen. Probably should scan it first just in case.

I have PSE 11 and loaded it there but I think you can use it on two platforms as long as it is on the same computer. Not sure though.

I found this on another blog today and I would say it is a heck of a deal if you ever wanted Topaz Adjust. (It is only available until 9/30 so you need to act fairly fast to get this deal)
I got mine!

I'd get a 720nm to start. Lower numbers allow more visible light through, but even with the 720 you won't be able to see through it. Set camera up on tripod, focus, then attach filter and take the shot. It will be at least a 20 second exposure. Blowing winds will be your enemy in landscape shots.
Search IR up in the search tab and you will have all kinds of information to ponder over.
