If you go to Biltmore in July I would HIGHLY suggest taking one of those spray bottles with a battery operated fan with you because it is not air conditioned and it gets very hot inside the house.

In my personal opinion Zion has the best potential for taking pictures of the several parks we went to.

This is where the opening scene in mission Impossible two was filmed. This is in Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah.

I have never had much much using a polarizer with wide angle lenses. I did put this image in PhotoShop and raised the contrast to 100 as you suggested and it really didn't make any difference in the sky, but did darken the trees.

I think of all the parks we visited that Zion has the best scenery for taking pictures.

I just got fascinated with the dead trees I was seeing on my recent trip so I started photographing them.

This is my first post. and I am posting a fifteen image pano of Horse Shoe Bend. My wife and I just returned from eighteen days visiting National and State parks in Wyoming and Utah. We visited seven or eight parks and it was amazing. I might add that these images were taken hand held and this is my first attempt at making a pano picture.
Nikon D500 using a Tamron 24-70mm lens shot at 24mm in portrait position. Settings are ISO 400, F13, 1/250 sec

I thought I had just signed on today. I remember coming here several years ago when someone was posting my pictures as his and I got in touch with the moderator and the problem was resolved. I forgot all about that. Now I am signing up to actually participate on the site.

I started photography back in 1969 and have been shooting Nikon for the entire time I have been in photography and very much enjoy it as a hobby and is my main interest since I retired in 2004. My first purchase after graduating from high school was a Nikon F with a FTN meter and F2 50mm lens which I still have. I am looking forward to sharing what I have learned over the years and hope to gain even more knowledge by becoming part of this community of photographers. I have taught four or five photography classes and I am always on a quest to learn more. My main focus is on wildlife and landscapes. I hope to become a contributing member and I would like to thank you for allowing me to be part of this community.
