I am fascinated by the possibilities. Can someone tell me if ON1 Photo Raw will stack focus bracketed images. My camera will create the images, but not do the stacking.

Thanks

Has anyone ever purchased used film cameras or any camera from National Camera Exchange? I collect film cameras and there is one I need for my collection at National Camera Exchange.
Thank you, Ron

Ron, I recently purchased a full digital system from National Camera in Golden Valley. I deal with Marc and found him to be detail oriented and he has been very helpful. They seem to take in quite a few cameras and lenses in trade. The 2 used lenses that I was interested in lately were sold before I was able to make the trip.

I have approximately 40 years of photo experience (film). I tried digital in its earlier days and actually gave up photography due to the my disappointment in the quality of affordable equipment. I now have a recent model and love it. But, I am still a rookie when it comes to using editing software. I will be posting in an attempt to gain knowledge in this area. If there are forum members in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that are using ON1 Photo Raw and are interested in becoming a paid tutor for an old guy, Please let me know.

Scanner is less than 5 years old.
It is still being sold.
It appears as if it is an Elements 11 issue.

I downloaded Epson combo package for the printer again.Followed instructions posted here again. No luck.

After looking at Mac/Elements sites for troubleshooting, it appears as if it is more complicated. Elements 11 may use the TWAIN plug in for more than one function and there can be conflicts.

I also found this- "To scan directly into Photoshop Elements 11 using its included TWAIN driver, you'll need a Mac that's capable of running the Rosetta PowerPC emulation" If I can verify this, I am not sure I want to use it.

Is there anyone on this site that has been been able to access a scanner through Elements 11 using OS 10.10.x?

I can scan and print by accessing the printer's preferences. That leads me to assume that the printer drivers that I installed are functioning.

This is what I found after I moved Import Modules to Plugins. Does this look correct? If it is correct, how do I access the scanner?
Thanks

Looking for help in determining what software I should use for scanning from an Epson Workforce printer to a Mac mini with OS 10.10.5. and Elements 11.

I can scan by going through the printer preference, but would like to access scanner through Elements 11.

Thanks

Try the experiment again, this time with the camera on a tripod. Make sure the scene has some bright areas and some areas in very deep shadow. Then process all images exactly the same way. Now compare the images at 100% and closely examine the bright areas and the areas in deep shadow. Now try to brighten the deep shadows so that you can see some detail in each image. Now compare the enhanced deep shadows from each test image. Very often the noise in deep shadows is not a problem until you try to coax some detail out of the deep shadows - then you see the noise. Just comparing the unedited images on your computer only tells you that the noise is not an issue yet, however the issue arises when you try to edit those high ISO images.

I feel that this is a much better way to test, for most of your image making, than using a low light level scene.

I have an Olympus E-510. My first venture into digital. I am beginning to understand that the camera is part of my problem. I find that the focusing reliability and speed are much less than I expected, therefore the question regarding split focus screens.

If there is anyone who has swapped the standard screen for a split focus in this camera, I would like to hear your views.

I am beginning to understand that I started my venture with a camera that doesn't have the capabilities I think I need. I want interchangeable lenses, quick and accurate autofocusing in all situations. I don't need Bluetooth, wifi or video capabilities.

I never had trouble focusing my F3. Yep, I am that old. Still functions flawlessly after 30+ years.

Thanks to all you responded.

When installed on a DSLR, does this type of focus screen case exposure issues?

Thanks

Read Ansel Adams' series of technical books. It took precise exposure, post processing of film and print to reproduce/capture the moment as he felt it.

Raw images may give us this ability, if we have the artistic skills.

I have seen some wonderful images on this site.

Thank you

Unfortunately, I have the basic kit zooms. I will try the split screen, but if that doesn't work for me I need to look at something newer and something a little higher end.

I sure miss using my F3 with 1.2 and 2.0 lenses. Still works flawlessly after 30+ years. I understand that it is possible to use older Nikon lenses on the 510 with an adapter. My 50mm 1.2 may make a good portrait lens?

Thanks again

Thanks for the help.
As someone who is fairly new to the digital world after 40 years with film, it is greatly appreciated.

E-510; Does anyone know if it possible to install a split screen or other element to assist with manual focusing? I am using kit lenses and the small maximum apertures are making it extremely difficult to focus.

Thanks
Ray
