You have done a great job on these! I have followed your sports shooting and it looks like you have really improved your game! Nicely done!

You're telling me! A bit awkward.
I would suggest to them a video camera on a tripod - but, maybe they are looking for some art to hang on their walls.(?) As a friend it would definitely be an odd position to be in. Maybe you can help them find another photographer that would be willing to take on the shoot.
I guess the thing for me is that it is capturing a moment between the couple. It is not a planned shoot with models, but real people with real emotion. If that makes sense to you. I think it would be much easier to shoot actors doing this, but friends, intimate enough that your wife is in their wedding party... Maybe, they are just swingers and didn't have a better way of inviting you along
So the client is actually a friend? And your friend wants you to shoot them the first time having sex as a married couple? This whole story sounds odd.

Ah..... let me point out that my biking is the pedaling kind. I pedal for hours.... it's a Giant hybrid bicycle. Definitely jiggly on the bike trails.
I would think a backpack might be a better way to carry - your body acting as the shock absorber and less bouncing than being directly attached to the bike.

I know all about different field of view of mentioned sensors as well as the focus points of mentioned cameras, it was just the way it was put into words that got me!
Sorry, I was taught by the same teachers as Sarah Palin - and you know how she talks

It was just his observation. If the shoe don't fit, don't wear it. I didn't know this was a safe zone.
The shoe definitely doesn't fit - As a younger person on this site I find that so many of the older ones treat others worse then their young counterparts. Sad, really.
The problem with this whole line of thinking from the OP is that, for whatever reason, he feels the need to disparage those, who for their own reasoning, have chosen to take a different path then himself. This is a major problem in our society today. We feel that the only correct way is our way. Maybe the OP should turn his thinking around and be an encourager instead.
Kudos for you for being old and able to carry a heavy camera and other gear! Get over yourself!

A camera does not have a wider angle? (I guess that depends on from which side one looks at it) Also, he would not need the best in focus points?? What does that mean??
Say a 24mm lens on a full frame will have a wider angle than if it is on a crop body and since the 6D has so few focus points with only one cross type he would not need a camera with 60+ all cross type focus points. Sorry that I was not clearer. I am sure that you actually figured out what I was saying but I did not do so in correct terms. Again, my apologies!
For your price point I would suggest a 6D. Great for low light, wider angle than a crop body, and you will not need the best in focus points. The camera new is $1269.00 at B&H. I would guess you could refurbished or used for less.
An older book that teaches from the basic starting point is "Mastering Digital SLR Photography" by David Busch. It is from 2008 (2nd ed.) but the concepts are all still the same. It can be found on Amazon, here is a link for the most current 4th edition.

What? all the time from time to time? Well, which is it? Because they do not mean the same thing. And your whole post comes up green....
He has a business and he can have collectors edition camera to display if he wants. Wouldn't be the first business to have a nice collectors edition display.
Was there a recent article stating that Nikon was doing away with the DF? If so, you will definitely have a nice collectors edition!
Impressive! Looks like beautiful craftsmanship!
