I will happen even if you get a DSLR. The only way to get around this is to get a tilt shift lens or better yet buy a view camera.

I searched Google images for "T90" and I thought I'd instead found photos of a half peeled turnip. When I managed to collect myself and dried my tears of mirth I saw what looked more like something out of a bad nineteen fifties science fiction movie. You cannot be serious saying that anyone actually copied that silly looking thing, can you? By your own words the thing was a flop and Canon quickly moved on to something which was somewhere at least a little nearer to being up to date.

To be honest most DSLRs look pretty much the same. Therefore if Canons look like potatoes, so do Nikons, Sonys and Pentaxs.

If you want a painting, go to the Art Museum. Everything squared off and in its' proper place is un-natural to photography. Angles vs perpendicular lines adds more interest to a picture. Being a neat-nick doesn't apply to photography. IMHO.

Exactly, the effects are not what makes it art. It is the intention that makes it art. Photography is art, as is painting, digital art, sculpture, etc... Adding effects to try to elevate an otherwise mediocre work is, as I said before, Kitsch.

Well!!!! Isn't that special." I think that was the "church lady" on Saturday Night Live" years ago. "people are not illegal, actions are." This has gotten to a point of being completely ridiculous. It seems to me that if you are here illegally you are an "illegal PEOPLE (person)". If you do an illegal act you are an "illegal person." Screw the ILLEGALS, the SPLC, and the ACLU.

The Associated Press has banned the term “illegal immigrant” from its stylebook.

The ruling came Tuesday and has fueled debate on both sides of the issue.

Hispanic groups and immigration activists long have decried use of the term, saying that people are not illegal, actions are.

That’s the view taken by the new entry, emailed to subscribers of the Associated Press Stylebook. The new entry, “illegal immigration” replaces the old entry “illegal immigrant.”
Well!!!! Isn't that special." I think that ... (show quote)

I don't even remember it being in my 2010 AP stylebook

You are flat wrong about since day. Silver was the popular color for quite a while.

Tell me, what should happen when the horizon really isn't level in nature - should you level it anyway? The top image below shows a mountain range in the background that slopes right to left and the image is as it is in nature while the bottom one was leveled. Often that will tilt a tree recognizably but in this case it doesn't. Not all horizons are tilted that appear to be. What then? Level it anyway? Naw!!!

Not always. Your foreground is ambiguous therefore I would leave it alone. Also if that is the way that it is leave it, if it is noticeable that it is off then fix it. If you have some conceptual reason for a tilted horizon i.e. tension or uneasiness, then leave it.

Well let me say this on a hot day in the summer a white lens is so much cooler to handle then a black one do you think Canon may have had this in mind when they started producing them in white just maybe those who shoot in places like Africa and any other continent where it’s so darn hot had this in mind. But who knows for sure if this a fact? But I will say this white doe’s stand out in the crowd, I like it; oh well enough said on my part.

Yes, that is the reason

Also, the notion of shadow detail when it comes to HDR. Shadow detail does not mean taking out the shadow. If I have a Zone III shadow, I can get more detail if I place it at Zone IV but the viewer still knows that it is a shadow. So many people today put their shadow essentially in Zone V, which negates it as a shadow. This makes for a flat image lacking in dimension and tonality. The same basically goes for highlights.

"Artist" is an all-encompassing term that applies to virtually anything creative. I have no problem with that.

EDIT: I bet people wouild expect to pay less for digital art because they're not getting the canvas, paint, and frame. Just a guess.

One of mine is when you look at an image and the PP is so overdone that you don’t even notice what the image is but rather what was done to it.

Very good point. I am also a painter. I cannot stand people who use the "painting" filters in PP. It is kitschy and tacky at best

My RB67 has a gridded ground glass which makes it very easy to do this. Most DSLRs lack this feature. I don't understand why they could get it so right 40 years ago and wrong today.

A professional in any trade means that it is the primary source of your income, and the Federal government allows you to deduct equipment and supplies as business expenses.

Anybody can buy decent camera equipment and call himself a professional photographer. Does the IRS accept your camera & lens purchases as legitimate business expenses? That is the true litmus test.

Yes, it does. I have been using the same camera for four years everyday. I do not use a bag to hold my camera because I do not have time to mess with a bag. I occasionally use a bag for a longer telephoto. My camera is always on my hip and thus has a lot of wear. I do not even use the eye cover piece anymore because it just falls off. I work two jobs doing photography and make the vast majority of income from them. My other cameras that are used for my artwork are in better shape. But when you walk around with your camera for eight hours a day and use it on a daily basis, it will not be in good shape.
