Kisha B, I betja that they allow it on desktop and laptop. Many programs do allow dual installation. Worthwhile asking. I asked for the discount price on one of the group and the special was over the previous month and they gave me the discount price. If that is an indicator, then wort asking for using on two computers.

I am going to signup for their webinars, even if I just listen lightly, I usually pickup a point or two. What would I do with out my Adjust, huh. Have you wondered where those details come from, fantastic, and the price is right.

And, Kisha, yes the first Crimson Passion photo was processed with Adjust and Noise.

Same photo DAP dynamic autopaint
Excellent program for dynamic artistic effects.

Like I say, Older PSE etc are the underpinnings for addon and plugins or pre-processing before programs such DAP. Many free thing out there that do not require big $$ like for CS5.5 or the Suit.

Yes, indeed, I did search before I asked. Please check your file for source or correct name. Go to My computer, main drive usually C:, then to "program files" and find the program. Or do a search on your computer and were does it come up. Then find out the company or name. The Pixbender I found is for Adobe CS only

Pixel Bender

Is there a Pixel Bender that works with non adobe programs.
Where id did you download, i would love to get it. Thanks d/p

People speak highly of Gimp. I use PSP.

What you use depends some what on computer, some programs eat memory and if you do not have lots, problems can happen.

No, no, no, those are photos of great water colors,,, confess.

Really great photos, and I will get rid of my scientist brain and switch to artist and do some of the smooth effects. Thank you for the stimulus.

Have you ever wondered where the heck the details and colors come from when you use Adjust! I know it is a math algorithm, but before I die (or in this case dye) I want to believe in magic.

The attached photos:
1. Crimson Passion Reaching; My TZ-3. Solder clamp holding flowers (low cost useful tool). Poster paper. LCD Flashlite taped to #10 solid wire (other end embedded in Plaster of Paris for weight). It was a (points no $) award winner at the Tampabay Camera Club (mytbcc.com). Critiques of every ones photos very useful in my improvement.
2. Same photo using Topaz B/W conversion.
3. A portrait modified using Dynamic AutoPaint, DAP. Also was an award winner. :-D

Checkout my comments under the Great Debate on Canon vs Nikon there is a side discussion by Vee and me.
Somewhere I have a reference regarding Minolta lenses and the Sony Alpha series. That is the main reason I would go with Sony. LENS Compatibility.

Cameras affordable; Lenses not unless you are able to use the Minolta you have or one of the 1000s on ebay.
Where did you find the $390.

Cures-you, you have stimulated me to further research the Sony, Panasonic, Olympus Mirrorless small cameras. I was comfortable with just vague I'm-gonna get one. Now you have me reading at 6:30 AM sipping coffee technical stuff like

AaaHa, now I know why the sensors are APS-C. Why didn't mom tell me?

There is some discussion about Pocket (baggy pants surly) cameras in Canon vs Nikon BIG guys in

Please keep me up-to-date regarding what you have found out. d/p

Yes, megpix race is a bit of a fraud. I recall getting in trouble with my Kodak 4800 3 megpix,,, printed an 8x10 of a lady and you could see the blond peach fuzz on her face and she freaked out. 3 megpix !!!

The more cuts on that sensor, the worse the signal to noise ratio!! Then you add de-noise adjust and then some color etc to fix what all that megpix race messed up!!!

Oriental philosophy perhaps applies here: "LESS IS MORE"

Agreed for most work we do not need those 12-14-16- and on and on megpix. Good glass, good photos. That is why I like my Panasonic TZ-3 glass=LEICA , yes the TZ series has improved but the 3 is still great. My next camera will prob be one of the Mirrorless because of large sensor. Please, a super zoom with a large sensor. Is there one?

Enjoy Your Photography.

They, programs, are all tough to learn, some more some less. Lots of good help out there. Gimp may have a learning curve, but so what, if the tool does the job, great, stick with it. Photography is to be enjoyed.

I love using Topaz Plugins according to the ref below they will work with Gimp, tho one article said with gimp PS plugins are glitchie at times. My favorite Topaz is Adjust. Read the info and try a 30 day.

Another forum member, and I are Topaz people. We both use Topaz Adjust and Noise to do quick expert processing. They have great webinars for training free. Ya, gotta love it. The plugins work in both PS and PSP, probably others. My favorite Adjust has been upgraded several times at no cost. They now have a webinar on their B/W coming up and give an intro price for attending. AND no I am not employed by them. Do I have any gain except great photos, nope.

Yes,Greg: Amazing indeed the human brain that could quickly calculate what to do with a photo,,, Intuitively. We had slow film,,,, fast was iso 400, but for a long time asa 25 was fast.

We quickly set lens f and speed, then focused for depth of field over under and back and forth,, some had needle exposure meters in eye view. We over or under exposed based on the scene, just right and pan and click. All was done in seconds and not many of them.

My Minolta 7000i was my dream,,,, I grew to hate it,,, it did what it wanted, and too many menus to fight with. Fuji X100 is a good step.

Camera manufacturers, please us a quick Manual adjust with knobs on body changeably while I view. (and no $1200 price tag)

Agreed, PS-7 is still a heavy duty machine and if you know the shift pattern on the gear box, drive it til you drop.

If indeed you need HDR, then use some thing that does just for that need.

HDR Photo Merge, PSP will do it since X2 and I quote from Digital Camera Review.

" ... X2 comes to your rescue with the High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo Merge"

I also still use MGI photosuite 4. its an old program but still very useful.I tried the Gimp but it seems a little hard for me to understand.

Go into preferences and you can chose the degree of loss in image quality on save. For most of the basic stuff it does the trick, like the ol' watch commercial, "keeps on ticken"

I bought the updates 5 & 7 ---- be warned: Roxio bought the program and proceeded to mess it up like Ford and the Thunderbird, beautiful as conceived and executed and then it got bigger and less useful.
