Thanks for that, the warranty is by Nikon themselves so hopefully should not be a problem ?
has anybody had any problems with Nikon warranty work ?

Nikon have brought out two new models of SLR and their D3100 and D5100 are BOTH well discounted here in the UK

Which would you buy and why ?

the D3100 is £290 and the D5100 is £399

Since asking this question some weeks ago I have found online a company offering the Nikon 5100 with
VR kit lens AND 2 years Nikon warranty for £339 !!!

surely at this price with 2 years covered by warranty I need look no further ?

what do you say ?

I followed this idea up here in the UK, in fact I was shocked Nikon UK are charging MORE direct from them than national chain stores here in the Uk, i have managed to find one and only one shop in all the Uk which has the D5100 around £50 cheaper than any where else, it looks like I may buy there, there were other ONLINE stores even cheaper but as they were in other countries I was unable to verify if genuine or not, a bargains isn't one IF I get scammed out out of a lesser amount for NO goods at all ! Hi,
just wondering now you had this camera nearly a couple of years how you got on with the HS30 ? I have one too, have you now moved onto a canon or Nikon ? if so how much difference was there from the Fuji ?

zoom in as close as you can, camera on tripod, spot focus and spot expose if you can and use timer delay to avoid shake.
hopefully you will see a vast improvement in the resulting photo,s.let me know how they turn out.

What do you use to transmit light out of your homemade softboxes ? i am using the sheet of Laminate which is used by laminating machines to protect certificates etc, seems to defuse well and as far as i can see hasnt got a colour cast.

Graham
PS i used double thickness, but larger box ,would take one sheet opened out single thickness.

Thanks very much,so did you with your Green and Pleasant land,i am just wondering though now,how much better i coud get, if i used the tripod and shoot RAW, obviously i,m hoping that will give me more detail, which is the only area i think i could improve on over those shots, must say again i think FUJI have worked wonders to give a hand held shot with 60 X such a good result.
I didnt do any planning really, just saw the moon and reconised the potential, grabbed the camera ,and rested my elbows on the window sill and composed and clicked away, probalby i didnt deserve to get the shots i did, when you realise the time some people put into the planning and dont come away with anything, doesent seem fair does it ?
