I'm seriously considering the RX 100II version. The III version has a fake pop up view finder which I would not need.
I have been reading great reviews on the RX100 series.

I have the RX100, RX100M2, & RX100M3, plus the RX1 and 2 DLSR(s) all Sony. Started there because of tremors and stayed. The (fit in) pocket camera I take with me the most is the RX100M2. I have it with me almost all the time. When I go on a cruise its all I take. Yes, I have a problem, I started keeping my cameras instead of selling them when I purchase or upgrade.

I agree. I used my Sony RX100Mk3 on a recent trip to Patagonia, and while I had a system camera with me (2 bodies and 3 lenses), I used the Sony quite a lot. I made some 12x18 blowups from the Sony, and they were wonderful - sharp, great color, good resolution. I was very pleased with it.

My camera system are both Sony, a77M2 & a99 using Zeiss, Sony G, and Sigma Art lenses. I really like both camera. I add you to my buddy list.

I have the Sony RX100 M3, and as someone else pointed out, it has a pop-up EVF (or you can use the rear LCD screen). The LCD also tilts up, which lets you hold the camera down at waist level (like the old twin-lens reflex). The optics on the Sony are superb. I used only that camera on a recent trip, made 12x18 enlargements, and was amazed at the detail, sharpness and color. And it fits into my jacket pocket. A perfect 2nd or backup camera

On the street I use 3 different Sony cameras. Yes, I have trouble parting with a camera when I get a new one. The two main cameras I use are Sony RX100M3 & RX1. I'm posting a photos from a recent Mexico trip. On this day I was using Sony RX100M2. I like using these over a DLSR for the street.

You picked it out. Job well done. I just had to take the shot when I saw it. It was Moab on the way to Sand Flat for a Jeep ride.

This was an interesting photo. I will let others see if they can pick out why I find it interesting.

Love these photos especially the last two and great reminders of my trip there. It is a wonderful place.

Thanks it was a great vacation, We spent 2 days in Moab. We Jeeped one day with a guide in the Sand Flats and then did the Arches National Park the next day.

I really enjoyed the Arches National Park in 2013. At the time I was still using a Sony point and shoot.

Max zoom have not idea of the distance other than it was far away.

From the trail head my guess is it was over a half mile to the arch.

I got mine used on Ebay and works fine. Don't remember the price except it cost less than new.

Use a Sigma 17-70 lens on a77II. I can only say it takes a tab longer to focus. The lens I have most on the camera is Zeiss 16-80 with a Sony flash. Use it monthly to take birthday photos at the retirement community.
