These statues are so life-like and well done!

Excellent pictures of excellent subjects. This is all stuff I did 75 years ago. I like statues.

These were in town until tomorrow

These are much better than being under exposed. They almost take on an "artsy" look. I like them. Blowing out the background distractions saved a lot of post processing. Ingenious.

UP No.1943 spotlights Union Pacific's relationship with thousands of veterans who helped build America after defending the United States - a tradition dating back to the company's founding. Created in collaboration with Union Pacific veterans, the locomotive name is connected to a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress funded by war bond contributions from Union Pacific employees in 1943. The plane was christened The Spirit of the Union Pacific and assigned to the 571st Bomber Squadron. The Spirit of the Union Pacific was shot down on its fifth mission during a raid on enemy installations in Munster, Germany.

Very interesting. I'm glad you posted this.

Great story and great pictures. I was there in 2003 but didn't come away with a story or pictures of any worth except as memories.

I just got a polarizing filter (BH) for my Nikon. The last time I used one was 30 years ago and was struck by the intense effects on clouds, visible through the viewfinder. Today, to my surprise, I could see absolutely no effect, no matter the filter rotation. This was true for multiple locations and shooting direction. Is there a reason for this lack of visible effect?

Is it a circular polarizer? They give different results from the ones you rotate.

Thank you Greyfox. For the background layer, I created a Duplicate Layer of the Original, imposed a Gaussian Blur at max slider, overlaid that with a Smart Photo Editor [Grunge Texture 007] layer at 40% Opacity, combined those two layers as the background, then touched back the opacity to 98%. This allowed the original layers background flowers to appear as "hints" of a garden.

Very well done. I pay attention to backgrounds and this one is the best. Beautiful flower too.

I took this shot in the Painted Desert. I wish we knew more about America's Ancient Ancestors.

Very nice. I remember that.

"'Tis sweet to be remembered..."
Well, 'tis also sweet to remember and I'm remembering last summer's trip. The Painted Desert is not as spectacular as the Grand Canyon, but it still holds memories.
