This gentleman wearing the uniform of the Grand Army of the Republic was part of a
fife and drum muster held at Minuteman National Historical Park in Massachusetts.
He was about fifty yards from me waiting to perform.

Stash,

Nice Picture. We lived in Andover, MA for 32 years before retiring down here. It was a nice place to live and raise kids, but winters are too cold and the taxes had gotten ridiculous. We went to several reenactments while we were there; fun things to do, but unfortunately that was before I got re-interested in photography so no pictures.

My great grandfather was also a member of the GAR and did two enlistments. I obviously never knew him, but I am fortunate to have his Calvary cutlass, .36 cal pistol, powder horn and his GAR Commander's metal from 1888 when he was commander of Barbara Ritchie Post #11 in New York City.
