Well, you have inspired me to post sets of the Jesuit and Hoffkirche Churches today. (Not my best photos, though, I admit.)

Magnificent as always. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.
Thanks, Ourspolair. I wasn't "into" PP back then, and I'm sure those could be inproved somewhat.

Lucerne, Switzerland in 2010 – the Hoffkirche Church

In 2010 my church choir made a concert tour of Switzerland and France, and one of the first places we visited was Lucerne, Switzerland. While there I managed to photograph the Hoffkirche Church. These pictures have had little post-processing.

All very, very nice! I've been to and in the Jesuit Church in Lucerne, but I've yet to publish a set about it (must fix that soon!) I have one pic of the Empress Hotel in Victoria, but yours is much, much better! All the other places were new to me and I enjoyed your tour.

My D7100 wears the Nikon 18-200VR2 lens all the time. I do have a 200-500VR zoom that I used on a rental D7100 in Africa, but put it in the seat next to me--I never tried carrying that beast. (It takes great pictures, though.) I also had my own D7100 with the 18-200VR2, and used it most of the time.

I agree that an ultra wide angle is best used for close up work where you want to exaggerate the distance between subject and background or for interior work in tight spots. For those big vistas you’ll be seeing I would definitely be stitching shots into panoramas.
This. And for Heaven's sake don't use an ultrawide to photograph groups of people--those on the edges won't appreciate being made into obese fatties.

Stained Glass in Europe, 2015

I spent 42 days in Europe in 2015 – two choruses doing concert tours, a river boat ride on the Seine, and 5 days in Poland between chorus tours. I photographed a lot of beautiful stained glass windows during that journey. If you like stained glass, here is the link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157657166435849/.

Here are a few for a tease:

Stitched panoramas largely avoid the edge effect distortions of extreme wide-angle lenses, and offer the potential of even wider views.

Thank you David for your kind note - I wander a lot when I am on location, but there is always so much to see (and to miss). Actually the Riga and Oslo shots were pretty much in the center, the Tallinn shot was up from the Toompea Hill close to the Aleksander Nevski cathedral which I would expect you to have visited. Can't see them all, that is for sure, even on a self-guided tour, you got to rationalize.
I have seen the Aleksander Nevski Cathedral but did not have time to go inside, unfortunately.

I had a brief visit to Quebec City back in 2011, got a few photos of the place. Also took an excursion to the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Beaupré and Montmorency Falls--beautiful places!

I like it. Where is it? Are those trails used by vehicles or just for bicycles and pedestrians?
