Probably the Nikon d7100. You broke your Distal femur? We have something in common. I broke my proximal femur. I hate when that happens.
Just want to say it's a great choice! I recently stepped up from a Nikon D50 to the D7100 and WOW it's AMAZING! After you get past the owners manual (which you will need), you will start a wonderful journey, ENJOY & HAVE FUN!

Recently acquired a Nikon D800 and tried it out on local July 4th fireworks. Will appreciate comments and pointers from anyone.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I also just bought the D7100. Actually I am on my third D7100. 1st one was awesome, unfortunately, it was the display camera and was just on loan. Fantastic images. 2nd camera came in and all I had were focusing issues, sent to Nikon & they serviced it, found sensors out of whack and the bayonet mount was messed up and when it came back still had issues. 3rd one replaced (exchanged) I have not had the opportunity to shoot yet. From a couple of images I can see that i will have great images like i got out of the 1st. I use auto focus most of the time but am learning to shoot in manual and have had awesome success. The shots of Jackson Square in New Orleans was taken in full manual with the 2nd camera on a 10 second time delay with a 75-300mm sigma at 11pm. I was pleased with the outcome. The gator also with the same lens in full manual.

really nice! Liked the first one best!
Hi, I am new to this whole forum thing, but here goes...the advice jerryc41 gives is exactly what I did with my OLD Nikon D50 shooting fireworks for the first time. The only thing I did differently was use a 3 to 5 sec delay. I was VERY pleased with the outcome. Hope you like my FIRST attempt at this.
