I have an Oly em1 and Nikon dslrs. The oly is nice but the Dslr is my first choice. Sometimes when I am on a trip with the Oly I often say to myself, wish I had my Nikon today.

Both systems are great and fit many shooting venues but the choice is yours.

call RRS with your thoughts as they are super helpful and want you to buy the one you need as they are expensive.

mogul is on the money. My son designs websites which are much less "busy" and easy to navigate. Decide what you want to do with the website and design to that end. I found succulent shots to be presented with no reason and some poorly planned - the shots on a downward angle. Why did you need so many shots showing rows of plants? Were those shots for potential commercial sales?

Redesign!

All you guys are lucky to even discuss giving something to your family. I have a small extended family and they are CHEAP!!!!!!! Once I had a Father's Day diner at my house. My (CHEAP) brother-in-law said he would split the cost...it has been 15 years and I am still waiting for the payment. I did take one picture of the family but only sent an email copy with, of course, not a thank you from any of the recipients. I could tell great stories of CHEAPNESS.
Thanks for the vent

Just think you have the ability of making a long lens longer by adding an extender. Who really cares...

A camera is like a puppy dog. I would not leave my dog in a locked car in any weather or in a cooler. Draw your own conclusion

Get the print size the person wants and print it at your printer or go to a local camera store and get a high quality print cost. Call the person who wants a print and tell them what it will cost. That should be easy, I've done it many times with my prints. I just do it for personal pleasure and do not derive any income from the print.

I have always wondered why the big camera manufacturers allow the sale of import equipment. Why do Canon and Nikon allow the import guys to use their names? Of course, C and N still sell a unit and what do they care where in the world it happened. ...all about the bucks

Canon sells more than Nikon, hmmm. What a revalation, why did I read this post? Must have been the panties thing.
Have shot both and am a Nikon user for decades. To tell you the truth my Chevy Silverado has given me more problems than my Ford F150. Oh well...

Nikon 7200, F2.8 105 VR, sturdy tripod, any ring light, and you are good to go.

Good luck, Dale

Ps I shoot Nikon but there is nothing less desirable in a similar Canon set-up.

Jean, if you have a local camera store near you, visit that location and look at some DSLR camera and lens combinations for either Canon or Nikon. If you are on a budget, purchase a kit which will include a camera and a good starter lens.

I did the same thing about ten years ago and selected Nikon. Currently I shoot a D7200 with a kit lens and a long telephoto unit for animal and birds in flight.

Another possibility is a micro4/3rds system. They are light and relatively less expensive. I have an Olympus and love it for travel.

Good luck with your selection and your venture into learning photography.

I do not care about the reason for selling. However, he owns the cameras and as such should specify what he wants for a selling price.

This site (to my knowledge) is not an auction site. This site caters to photographers. I do not care to start sending price bids back and forth like a bidding site.

Seller, just list the price you want and say you will entertain reasonable offers. If you are interested in bids, go to an appropriate site.

Ps are these USA bodies?

Good Luck

The 16-80 lens (is a DX) is a 2.8-4.0 not a straight 2.8 like the 24-70 or 70-200.
I tried the 16-80 and the 2.8 only functions to about 19mm after that the F stop changes. I compared the 16-80 to the 24-120 F4.0 and found the 24-120 much better in overall performance (and I bought it). I do not worry about the edges because when I print I always crop slightly and if any distortion is present on any edge, it is not printed.

WOW!!! I just purchased a used copy of the 24-70 F2.8 and it is really an improvement over my 28-70. It is much lighter and the focus seems very fast. Although my 28-70 F2.8 has been a faithful companion I may sell it in favor of the new (used) 24-70 F2.8 that I now own.

Bottom line all these lenses are great as, I am sure, the newest 24-70 F2.8E VR will be.

What is really nice is with the creation of the new 24-70 F2.8E model, there should be lots of quality 28-70 and 24-70 F2.8s available on the pre-owned market to satisfy many budget-minded photo enthusiasts.

Keep shootin', Dale
