Yes, me to. But to be clear, it was an old goat and an OLDER goat!

Well, I think you almost got it right ... it was in fact an old goat & an older but much handsomer & more debonair goat!!!!! ;)

When these critters look straight into the camera, I wonder if they are thinking "Does that person with the camera taste as good as I think?" They always look like they are going to tear you apart. I'm not afraid of them, just cautious. I don't want to be thought of as a "tasty morsel".

Great shots. You gave me a chill. That tells the whole story. Well done!!!

Thanks for those comments ... I really appreciate it. And yes, I suspect they're thinking we'd make tasty morsels ... & I too, would prefer to forego that pleasure!!!!!!

AzPicLady ... you're not alone in not feeling all that positive about them ... but as you say, they are part of the system. I happened to regard them more positively because of that. I do appreciate your visit & comment.

DebAnn ... yup, I too liked them, but they weren't my favorite ... of the predators, the coming 3 posts all rank much higher in my book. But I did enjoy watching them. Thanks for the visit & comment.

phlash46 ... thank you very much.

merrytexan ... thanks for the visit & comment ... appreciate them as always.

rmalarz ... thanks Bob ... high praise coming from you ... thank you for that & I'm glad I was able to get those shots.

Hereford ... thanks for the feedback, as always. Appreciate it ... & I hear you on the cropping ... I struggle with that sometimes & left a bit more in in order to show their environment. But appreciate the suggestion.

David in Dallas ... thank you David ... I think the person who got the best shots of Hyena babies was Keith (RetiredCPO) ... look up his post. They were better than anything I got.

John from gpwmi ... you're spot on John ... as noted by an earlier comment, they are a fierce predator ... & can be a threat to Lions even. I have a post coming that will address that somewhat. And yes, the trip was outstanding. Too short ... but hard to argue with it given the amount of wildlife we saw. I hope to go back in the not too distant future. Thanks for the feedback.

Earnest Botello ... thanks for the positive feedback Earnest ... appreciate it as always.

Yep, and I wouldn't mind too much, as long as you shared the photos Whatever it takes to get the shot!

There's a piece of me that believes you might just get out & get personal with those critters ... although I'll admit that I would likely have blinked first & in concert with Gilbert, encouraged you to stay in the Landcruiser.

fbeaston, I think I've got my animals identified, but the big chore is identifying what things were that were seen on the road travel between resorts. (Yes, I do try to do that.) I've just finished ONE of the Albums (and there are about 7 or 8 of them). For some of them I do have GPS data in the photos (but it wasn't working for all of them).

(To see what I try to do, go here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/albums/72157713487569141.)

Thanks David ... we stopped (but only for lunch) at Lake Elementaita Serena Camp where your journey appears to have started. We saw similar scenes along the road although you captured them much better than I. Most of my shots like that were taken on the move, so they were just memory snapshots.
