Thanks for your fast reply. My first impression is that 60mm on the low side is not wide enough for a walk-around. However, I am not familiar with this lens and will search for a little more information on it.

I would like to hear about opinions/experience of Sony Nex/a5000/a6000/a6300 shooters using lenses adapted for use on these mirrorless cameras in manual focus mode. I have an a6000 and am trying to decide upon a walk-around lens with reasonably good IQ that, ideally, could be obtained from ebay or other sources for $300 or less. I have the Sony 18-55mm kit lens, but its upper focal range is a little short, and its performance is merely "acceptable". I am especially interested to know if anyone has experience or opinions regarding use of the Canon efs 15-85mm, the Canon 24-105 f/4L, or other Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, or Tokina lenses in manual mode with these cameras.

Thanks, naturepics43. The presence/amount of play was my biggest concern.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding the use of a "variable length auto extension tube" for Canon EOS cameras? Such items seem to be marketed under the name "XPRO" and "SAVAGE ARTS" for +/- $200.00.

"Clean Install" means you wipe your old boot info and OS from your drive and install WIN10 on the clean sector. Easiest means to accomplish this is to use the FLASH DRIVE or DVD download version of the ISO and execute the installation from the FLASH DRIVE or DVD instead of downloading the ISO to your temp file of the HDD and doing an upgrade from the present OS to WIN10.

This method of doing a "CLEAN INSTALL" or "VIRGIN INSTALLATION" will eliminate all the junk in your boot directory and registry but it also means you need to re-install your programs and recover your personal files from the backup after scanning them all with a good antivirus and malware program. It does give new life to slow machines that have been bogged down with background junk programs, cookies, viruses and spyware that can be carried over to the new OS if it's not deleted.

Thanks, singleviking. Looks like I will need to read up on how to execute those instructions on my specific computer.

This is a scam. I had a similar problem with Win 8.1 and called the number.

Someone answered the phone and it sounded like an internet cafe or someones basement during a party. I told the guy " I can't hear you" he said something and all the conversations disappeared. He wanted $199.99 to fix the Microsoft problem and I said I'd just run my Acronis backup restore to a day or two earlier. He hung up. I turned off the computer and on restart the problem was no longer there.

I did a restore anyway.

Sounds like you downloaded some Malware or Ransomeware.

I would restore back to whatever you were running before the upgrade; Win7, Win8.1, run a scan for malware. Then perhaps upgrade back to Win10 after you verify that all is working correctly.
Worst case, do a clean Win10 install.

Thanks, Dan821. Please excuse my ignorance but could you help me to understand what is meant by the phrase "clean install?" Perhaps you could direct me to an explanatory link to save time and trouble?

Thanks again, lhardister

I posted about the same issue the other day. It only affected Edge, but even a restart did not help.
Put you cursor over the close tab "X" and press the ESC key while you attempt to close the tab.
If you time it right, you will be free.

Those steps appear to have worked. The blue screen is gone. Thanks so much, hlmichel.

About 10 days ago, I downloaded Windows 10 and it seemed to work fine. Then about four days ago, I awoke my computer, attempted to open the Edge browser, and received a blue screen error message to the effect that some driver had "unloaded" improperly, that my registry was at risk, etc., etc., and that I would have to call a a certain toll-free number to resolve the problem. The blue screen was locked in place; I could "minimize" it but could not close it. Restarting the computer had no effect. Edge is locked and unusable.

It appears that the Google Chrome browser and Internet Explorer are functional, as well as other apps and programs on the computer.

I called the toll free number, talked to an allegedly "certified" technician, and to make a long story short, was told that the "services" provided to my computer had not been updated upon the download, and that I would have to hire "support services", provided solely by Microsoft certified technicians, for a subscription fee of $349.00 to resolve the problem. I ended the conversation, and plan to leave Edge in its locked status until something further manifests itself.

Is this for real? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? What are your thoughts, please.

Hi,
I have a Canon 7d and a 580exii speedlite. I am considering trying to purchase a couple of slave flash units for indoor use but the cost of more Canon units seems excessive. I am thinking in terms of Neewer or Yongnuo units, but cannot fathom the technical jargon in product descriptions on Amazon, etc. Can anyone recommend products that are inexpensive but effective, require a minimum of calculations and adjustments on my part, are quick and easy to set up and take down, and are compatible with my equipment?
