Does anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding the use of a "variable length auto extension tube" for Canon EOS cameras? Such items seem to be marketed under the name "XPRO" and "SAVAGE ARTS" for +/- $200.00.
I had the Nikon version of the XPRO. It had way too much play when fully extended for my needs. The electrical contacts worked as advertised. I sent mine back as it didn't fit my needs. For the money, I expected more. Do an internet search. Seems the floppy play when fully extended was the main/only complaint. Just my opinion. You may find it fits your needs perfectly. Good luck.
Thanks, naturepics43. The presence/amount of play was my biggest concern.
I have the Savage version and it works fine.

Is there any "play", up & down or sideway movement when fully extended with your macro lens attached?

Mine fit nice and tight but not too tight, no movement but easy to take on & off.
