I like the second shot best because it depicts the type of weather and environment these tough Irish people lived in at the time. I have been to the west coast of Ireland and hope you had a chance to visit the Burren, the cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands as well. All very picturesque, particularly during inclement weather.

#3. tighter crops are usually more interesting but I would have picked #1 if the horizon was horizontal because it shows the lobster traps identifying the shot location area.

Great shot. Would like to know if that is the Methusilla (sp) tree and what were your settings? I visited there recently and also shot Alabama Hills just south of the grove. Hope you had time to do that as well.

Rick,

I would consider buying your strobe. Please quote me a price including least cost shipping as I am on a budget and don't need a real strong strobe.

Thanks,

Bill

I'm trying to decide between an Opteka IF500 and a Sony HVLF20 flash for my NEX-6. Anyone have an opinion on which is best?

This looks like the Pecos Monument south of Santa Fe. Google it and I think you'll see the many similarities. It's a great place to visit because you can actually go down into the Kivas.

Thank you. This guy really nailed it so I sent it (via Facebook of course) to my millenial nephew with the hope that he will actually have enough patience to watch the entire thing...

Fellow Hoggers, I have been reading the posts for a couple years, This is my first post. For background, I am 73 retired, been taking shots starting back in the film 120/620 days then graduated to Nikon 35mm. When Nikon went digital so did I. First Nikon digital was 6 meg pixels.
Ok the reason for my post is for help. The wife and I are going to New Mexico for 10 days in mid October. We are looking for sites to take pictures, really want to get some good shots of Indian ruins, cliff dwellings. I will be using my Nikon D7100 caring two lenses, Nikon AF-S 18-300mm 3.6-6.3 GED VR and a Tokina ATX PRO SD 11-16 F2.8 (IF) DX II. The wife ( A beginner ) will be using a Nikon D3200 E/W Nikon AFS 55-300 4.5-5.6 GED VR and a Nikon DX AFS 18-55mm 3.5-56 G VR. I think she will be using the available auto modes on the camera. We will have two tripods. We will be driving a 4x4 vehicle. Really appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks Carl
Fellow Hoggers, I have been reading the posts for ... (show quote)

Go to Santa Fe, drive to Bandalier National Monument, then head for Taos and stop at Pecos National Historical Park and Chimayo. Go to the Taos Pueblo. Bosque del Apache is also worthwhile if you like bird santuaries and Cloudcroft has one of the most spectacular falls imaginable.
