An interesting statement on the struggle for plants and trees to survive in inhospitable conditions. I think, though, that your subject is overwhelmed and blends into the background too much, hurting the impact of the photograph.

As probably mentioned in Wikipedia, the High Line is an elevated park running along the Westside from 12th to 34th Street in Manhattan's West Village, Chelsea and Clinton areas. From the Whitney Museum (12th Street) the renovated abandoned rail bed attracts many tourists and locals as the path leads North and curves through many newly constructed high rise apartments and commercial buildings to the Hudson Yards and Javits Convention Center. Unfortunately, gentrification of the areas surrounding the High Line has lead to massive construction where once "open" views of the Hudson River and New Jersey were possible, that except for slivers between buildings, now do not exist. Great for property values but not necessarily for photographers!

Park West Camera Club had assigned its members a photo project, "The Four Seasons of the Highline" and will probably spend a future evening meeting viewing the images from the 4 field trips taken during the last year.

Cheers. Ed

Photographed along the High Line in Manhattan NYC. There are many photo opportunities along the High Line due to the unique perspective of city life one gets. You can read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Line

Critique, comments and suggestions always welcomed. Thanks.

Very pretty and love the water too. I like it this way and it would be great cropped too, to highlight the duck. Beautiful either way!

Thanks for taking a look and the comment John.
