I am always awed by images of birds in flight. I find I can't even get the bird in the frame, let alone get it focused!
It all depends on your purpose for the image. If you wanted the barn in its environment, then obviously the first. But if you're more interested in details of the barn and paddocks, then the second. Both are excellent images. What was in your mind when you clicked the shutter? Was it, "what a lovely barn?" Or was it "what a lovely spot for a barn?" Answering that will give you the answer to your dilemma.
But of course, my answer is always, "why choose?" Keep both!
Mike, you can make even show look beautiful!

Hey, you didn't do near as bad as you let on. Psst, you know most set up feeders and just relax in a blind till they show up. They are still hard even then. Little buggers are really fast.
Thanks, Rick. I did shoot from a blind when visiting my friends in Texas. I got some decent shots. Mostly it's just that I'm a bit too slow these days and a bit shaky.

I think you did a good job kathy...the cardinal posed beautifully...my favorite of the bird shots...keep practicing and before you know it you'll be hooked on bird photography!
Thank you! I really appreciate those encouraging remarks. Yes, the cardinal was super. I was quite pleased with that one.
I'd be happy with this shot.
Your patience and determination were rewarded. Nice images.
Nice pictures. Interesting encounter.
