Buffleheads are such cuties. You really captured it in #1.

The photo obviously speaks to you and has deep meaning for you, so for that reason alone, it is a good photograph. I have used the tilt shift effect humorously when I've taken photos where buildings or people happen to be tiny and by fading out the background and foreground make them look like they belong on a miniature train set.

I'm going to cast my vote for the B&W. This is a very gritty scene with the scrawled walls, and the well-dressed couple seems "misplaced." But the B&W embeds them in the context and goes along with the title.

I have to admit that I like that a lot. Sort of the best of both worlds.

I recently pulled it out and converted it to sepia, I like it but not sure if it was the right choice.Phil

Looking for other ways to "play" with your image, how about sepia with a touch of desaturated color to allude to the green space? And keeping those great sunbeams!

Here is the color version, I am looking forward to the results!

Love the color version, but I agree with Phil. It's much too green (and yellow). Did very little to get it more to my liking. I kept the wonderful sunbeams as is but desaturated and cooled down the rest of the image.

A sterling capture. Have never seen one in real life but have learned to love them by seeing photographs like yours.

How lucky to be so close to a place that attracts so many wonderful birds! As BassmanBruce says, "Keep on clicking!" Your woodpecker photos are wonderful, not TMI at all!

Drastically crop and reimagine.
