You should calibrate your monitor under the same lighting you will be working under.

Yes...And leave your monitor on for at least half an hour before calibrating or editing. I also shade my monitor with a couple folders.

I'm not sure what you did, or what was going on around your cat's nose in the picture or lens. Maybe even smudges on the glass. But after I brightened the picture, it really brought out the issues, and then I had to make repairs. I believe I have done a good job. This is definitely off topic, but you might be happy:

Yes, you did! And both Bootsie and I thank you. He has some boo-boo's around his nose which I clone out. Comes with cat old age!

Youve caused me to revisit the pix ... so now I need to alert Bubbee that her sensor is rather grubby :-( Heeeeeey Bubbeeeee ! Lower edge of your sensor is dirty. Maybe other areas but cant easily tell from those pix.

Agreed, the closest I see to moire, is on the pink pillow. If it were my picture I make a couple of edits, a little brightening and sharpening here and there. But hey cute cat!!!

Thanks! He's 15 years old and was my favorite subject until my Great-Grandson came along! I can make corrections in PP (ha), but now I want to know why. It only happens with flash, (SB800 and 500) and only with my newer Z50, not with my D7100 DSLR . I wonder why!

This is the biggest pile of misogynistic horseshit I've ever seen. Your "invention" of pre-historical human behavior is off-the-chart stupid. More man-splaining of male privilige and female subjugation. Stunningly ignorant stuff.

Yea! Thank you! I agree!

Most interesting topic and I look forward to more comments .
My main thing is taking ' Character portraits ' which I often combine with glamour .
It's often tricky , and have been accused ( by feminist types ) that some of my shots are too sexy .
Though to me its just portraits , Sexuality in photos ( if done right ) can bring out a lot of the persons character .
I've quickly chosen a couple of shots I took .
The colour one shows a lot of character especially with the self harm on the arm . Was just a quick 10 second shot in a nightclub in London .
The BW shot was a posed shot of an acquaintance in home studio .. The photo was with film and untouched . she objected strongly to the result , saying to me ' What have you done to me ? thats not me at all ' !! Cant win .lol lol
Most interesting topic and I look forward to more ... (show quote)

I think they're both gorgeous....subjects and photography.
