We have two rescue kittens and take them with us in our RV. They're a handful but the love in return is well worth it.

Thanks for the positive post. I was shooting the sunset on manual settings and saw the heron coming. Didn't have time to reset the exposure and started shooting. This one caught my wife too. A little dark but I kinda like it.

Silhouettes are not necessarily profiles of people. If course, I expect to see those if you have such subjects, and also pets. Come on and open my eyes, fellow Hoggers!

Here's one I took last week.

Any suggestions guys thank you

There are many how to books available. The "For Dummies" series is pretty good and you may be able to get one specifically for your camera. I found it helpful when I entered the DSLR world.

Okay, just out of curiosity let's see if most people use full manual.

If you use full manual at any time, yes, that means even on occasion, please say Aye!

If you never use full manual please say Nay!

I guess since I'm the lucky (or is that dumb) one to ask this question I guess I get to do the counting.

Ready, set, go!

No post processing yet. Just getting back into playing with the exposure and light. This one is 3 stop underexposed to get the colors and contrast on the boat. I know everyone is being nice to the new guy and not pointing that out.

Thought so but evidently not. I'll try again.

Hi folks,
I've been reading posts and questions for a few weeks now and really enjoyed it. I'm getting back into photography after about 20 years with point and shoots of varying quality.
I recently purchased a D5600 with the 18-140 and 70-300 lenses in a kit from Beach thru Amazon. I love the camera and lenses, but most of the rest of the stuff is almost useless. It got the major hardware to a price I could almost justify to my other half. I bought the 5600 because of the size and weight. Wanted something I could carry around without a stiff neck at the end of the day. It also fit my hand really well.
I'm thrilled with the results so far. I had an SLR and BW darkroom when I was 14 so I'm not a total newbe but WOW the technology now.
Just wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone in advance for your patience with yet another newbe to UHH.
This is a sunset at Rend Lake in So. Illinois.
