Here's a link to an interesting story from the Guardian.

I like the picture of the great grey owl sitting on the camera.

I just got back from there and it was wonderful. I'd recommend -
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary - walking tour. Great wildlife in the lakes area. All kinds - spoonbills, egrets, alligators, curlews, herons
JN Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge (in Sanibel) - did this by bike although you can drive. Alligators, storks, egrets.
Fakahatchee in Everglades City (Eco Adventures) - did this on a kayak. Found nesting egrets and bald eagle.
Unfortunately its not the best time to be there as lots of birds, like the Peilcans, have gone to Minnesota I'm told. They should have stayed longer.

thanks. There was also a post I found (can't find it now) that had several tutorials listed. Anyway, I bought the NIK book on Amazon.

First advice is don’t take any shots with figurines behind it. 😊

Seriously, you’ll want to make sure you get your composition right. Its not only the shooting that counts but the post-processing. Shoot mostly in aperture priority mode so you can put emphasis on depth-of-field. If indoor, check to see if you’ll need a flash. Get out and practice so you know what settings works best for your camera.

Other than that, go for it although bear in mind that as the photographer, you won’t be an active participant in all the action unless you’re going to just casually shoot.

Re Zues (Zeus?), I took away the figurine. Such a cute doggie!

What you mention would be the first things you would want to do. I think applying either the thirds or spiral rules is usually the last thing I think of.

Came across this article on shutterbug. Interesting idea.

No, it was last year. I'd love to be up there now but have a bad leg. :-( Re the IPhone - its all about the shot versus the equipment. Just was lucky enough to be there on a bluebird day following a major snowstorm.

Came thru Miami in Jan from Nicaragua with al my camera gear. Breezed right thru. No problem. However, that was thru global entry which if you travel outside the US, is the only way to go.

Through my studies on how to use Photoelements, I came across a video on NIK and how to use it. It’s a fantastic package and in some areas better than the controls in Photoshop. The collection is FREE but it may not be for long. So if you have PhotoElements/Photoshop, you’ll want to add these tools. The link can be found @ https://nikcollection.dxo.com/. They’ll send you a confirmation email and then a link to the download. Mine installed into PhotoElements 2018 with no problems but there are others that have had difficulty. Enjoy!
