Thanks for the discussion. The Pro 1000 is tempting - but cost and size are a bit daunting. (It's more the ink costs.) Maybe the Pro 10 - and go out for larger sized prints.

I'm interested in the replies as well. I'm currently printing 8.5 x11's out of an Epson Eco Tank ET-3600 for proofs. The colors are not very accurate - but it is only a 3 ink + black printer. There are no ICC profiles for it.

I'm looking at the Canon Pro 10 and Pro 1000. They are pricey - but I hate buying things twice. (Buy a cheap version and then buy the better version.)
Any thoughts and suggestions on these two printers would be appreciated. Right now I'm using print services - White House Custom Colour and Bay Photo. But if something doesn't look right in the photo - I don't see it till 5 days later. And if I'm submitting to a show or client - that's too late.
I haven't considered Epson as many of the reviews indicate that they clog when not used a lot - and I will be an intermittent user.
Thanks.

I tried both apps and found Airmap easier to use. I was able to get approval to fly at 100 feet in a few seconds. I didn't have to do anything to the drone.

I have 2 Canon 600EXll-RT Speedlites. I have dropped them both - separate occasions. (I hate it when that happens.)
The good news is that they are working just fine.
The only issue is that the diffuser screens have broken off. (It's the translucent screen that folds back in.)

I called Canon - and it's a flat rate of $150 each to repair them. I can live without diffusers for $300.
B&H doesn't do repairs or sell spare parts.
Has anyone tried to repair theirs?
Thanks...

Thanks - I checked out both apps. What happens after you get an instant approval? How do you enter that into the drone? (I have a Mavic 2 Pro.) Or - get a DJI unlock?

This may be one of those - you can't get there from here - but I thought I would try.

A moving company wants me to take some (stationary) drone photos of their moving trucks. But their facility is under the SeaTac (Seattle) airspace - so my drone won't fly. Mavic 2 Pro.

I do have my part 107 license. So the question is - how do real-estate drone photographers take photos of houses when they are under controlled airspace. Or do they not do it? The drone is only going 20 feet in the air - usually below the highest trees.

Thanks for any insight you can give.

Black Rapid. I also have a RRS quick release that connects to my RRS L-bracket. I was concerned about the reliability of the quick release but it works great.

I just shot a large charity fundraiser - black room, high ceilings, yellow (very dim) lighting, no windows.
Used a Canon 5D3 with 24 to 105 - f5.6, 125, ISO 4,000. (Set to manual) And - a Canon 600 Speedlight (which was essential) with Gary Fong modifier. Ceiling was too high to bounce - and it was black. Speedlight was set to ETTL.
You need to have some depth of field - or too much will be out of focus. And you can't shoot much slower or you will get motion blur.
With all of that, I still had to do a lot of color and noise processing. (The flash and room lights were different color temps. I could have used a yellow filter (1/2 CTO) on the flash to fix that, but I forgot.)
I think you will be disappointed if you don't use a (non pop-up) flash.

I have been using Capture One for about a year. (I used LR6 and CS6 before that). I think Capture One does some things better, mainly with their color editing and skin editing tools. The layers are great, but you can accomplish the same local adjustments with the LR brush. I think LR does a better job on the catalogs, but - I use the "sessions" feature of Capture One more than the catalogs which LR does not have. There is a lot going on in Capture One - and they have good tutorials. There are some C1 courses on Lynda.com as well.

I also switched to Affinity Photo as my CS6 replacement. The handoff from Capture One to Affinity is similar to the handoff from LR6 to CS6. While the programs are similar, I find Affinity a bit easier to use vs. Photoshop. Their tutorials are OK, and the program seems to have a growing fan base.

Bottom line: You can get similar results from LR & PS as you can from Capture One and Affinity. I like the Capture One and Affinity combo, and would not go back.

Thanks everyone - I'm checking out what Chubb (via Nanpa) offers. I currently have State Farm - just wanted to compare.

Hi - I have an Inland Marine liability insurance policy via State Farm that I use for coverage when shooting paid client work. (In case someone trips over a power cord or gets blinded by a flash.) It also covers my camera gear. (Since I use this for work, I can't cover it under homeowners insurance.)

I'm looking to compare rates and coverage from other providers. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Feel free to respond in private if you don't want to post rates.

Thanks.

I belong to the PSA (Photographic Society of America) and get their monthly magazine.
Another good one is LensWork. They have print and on-line editions. http://www.lenswork.com/lwo.htm
