Those photos are great! I love the idea of the feeder ball!
Found it at Target-It's on the way to Notch Rd.!!
Thanks Judy !
Glad you found it ! I have had a few folks around here ask where... we bought those back in 2008 for Sue's Dad. Sue thinks she got those from National Geographic. When he passed on, we took them back to Houston...
and now here in Aurora.. They are only 1/2 squirrel proof... which means 1/2 the time they fall off, and 1/2 the time they get a scooby snack...
but we don't care...
they're just part of the side show going on around here !!
These are all from my front porch, viewing the bird feeder off to the side. The tugboat is also from my front porch with a big Sigma zoom... the bird photos date from April 22, this year on through May 28th.
I set the cameras on a tripod, and remote clicked. You most likely will not get finches freehand... you just have to watch for them to come in and rapid fire as they flit around... some are not the best quality but we are among friends, right? hahahaha
These are all on the left end of the house, beside the driveway, and the yard toward the end of the driveway. I won't swear its within 10 meters, but is under 15 for certain. Except for the deer. she's a little further around the back of the house, and I was in the bedroom... I hope the info provided is sufficient... if not feel free to ask for anything else you may want to know.
There was no flash on any of these.
Aside from the peonies, and the clover blossom turned negative,
I don't know the names of any of them. Maybe you all might?
PS these are all shot May 12,
or since this month.

p. 12 danersmiff - so great to see you!!! No one would know you haven't shot a flag this year - but now the whole UHH world knows
Thanks Pat !
Who knew the Hog was a place for True Confessions?
That said, I suffered my first (and hopefully last)
creative block. It got so bad,
I even laid off the facebook for days, and weeks.
I put the camera down last fall...Haven't done that in 15 years.
but I am taking the camera out, again...
My home town of Galion puts these banners up every year
to honor all the local vets. Grandson Avery is under Sue's
father Jack's banner...
I posted this last year, and Rolk cleaned it up for us.
So I thought this would be a great spot to replay it...
Shame on me, I haven't shot any new flag shots
for a while... (note to self)
And Thanks Again Tim!!!
for cleaning this up !!
it looks great !!!

I had it set on a tripod with full screen auto focus... toggle switch.. these little finches are too fast to catch in flight free handed.. (to me).. so I rapid fire when they fly in... crop to suit what I catch later... it's interesting to see what all is hanging around...
Somewhere southeast of Friendship, Indiana...
Sue and I stumbled across a farm with an unusual out building...
the green sign says
Locust Grove School house...
the lower picture demonstrates the plumbing from the times....
Sometime ago, someone tried to "preserve" it by wrapping it in
a tar paper backed covering...(economy style)...
that appears to be failing now, as well...
pretty sure the 3 r's were covered here...

the double p's may have been covered back there

We went with My son, daughter-in-law, and the grands to the Little Buckeye Children's Museum, in Mansfield, Ohio last May... The twins are 2, and Avery is 5, now...
There is a Carousel about a block up the street, so we went over there after leaving the Museum...
I had to include the last photo...
Jess is such a wonderful mother...
no matter what those boys are doing,
that smile never leaves her face.
Yeah, that's impossible, right?
nope... I have photo after photo...
A quiet little place...
