I will put my 2 cents on this. I have been to a couple of weddings recently and the photogs were using 810's. The second wedding photog said it improved her images and overall presentation. I then checked at a local camera store and a tech put it this way. If you are shooting portraits or landscapes or people pictures in general, the 810 is the best camera for the money. If sports is what you plan on taking lots of pictures of, the 750 is the best. No reason has ever been given for this. The pictures just look that much better. Maybe some of the experts can fill in the reason.

The camera is a Nikon D3300. I have shot a lot of film using Nikon FE and F2A, mostly BW. We were on vacation in Flagstaff and needed film. Stopped at WalMart and the young man I asked did not know what film was. I found the film on my own and decided I needed to move to digital. Thus came the D3300 as a gift to me.

I am still experimenting with this camera, learning what to do. Let me know what your thoughts.

The IFPA is a good place to start if the going to be a constant line of work. Your local media sounds like a small shop that probably doesn't issue its own staff any kind of press credentials. in smaller communities everyones knows everyone and police knows the press. In larger areas, a press card will carry weight. I was a member of NPPA for a period of time. The membership card got me into many events that were otherwise off limits.
