I am thinking of buying the 4K blu ray player. I have the blu ray player but I want to watch movies in 4K. I like disc.

I have two of them, Sony. I have read that Panasonic may be better, but I have no complaints.

According to the news, it was more of a composite photo, meant to show that Kate is doing fine when, maybe, she isn't. This wasn't a case of adjusting contrast and exposure, and it's unlikely that Kate did this herself. Because the royals are talking, rumors will continue to spread.

The photo was altered and saved twice in Photoshop. Kate said that she did the editing herself. Haven't we all done the same? So what's the big deal?

JPEG SOOC. No manipulation. Just showing that the lens is sharp.

The G7 has an awesome, sharp, fast zoom. It never lets me down.

Since everyone else is posting pictures, here's one I've posted before taken with my Canon G7 II.

I'm sorry to see disks going out of use because I still use CDs and DVDs, and whenever possible, I have two drives in my desktop. Unfortunately, this Dell I bought a few years ago (XPS30) cannot accept a drive. My son got an XPS40, and I was able to add two drives to that. When I want to use a disk with the Dell, I plug in an external drive. Now that I'm back to using Big Red, I have my two drives back. Two drives are perfect for making copies. I'm tempted to buy a couple of drives in case they are no longer available in the future.

How many of you have optical drives?

I have an external drive that will burn DVD and Blu Ray discs, including MDisks. My 4 year old HP laptop has a built-in optical drive, but I replaced it with one that will burn Blu Ray discs. (That was fun.)

I have two Sony UHD players that are hooked up to TVs. Blu Ray and 4K discs play with better quality than what you get streaming. Streaming services, including cable companies, use a lot of compression, and you can see the difference. I still buy discs. I like having good quality hard copies of movies that I will watch over and over.

My car has a USB port plus a CD.
I just put a crapload of songs on the FOB. All our CDs have been ripped to the computer.
No need to store a bunch of CDs in the car.

(I do have about 300 CDs in a rack in the house, still......)

The JVC stereo I put in one of my cars has a USB port as well as an iPod mode. I ripped about 100 CDs with iTunes and transferred the playlists to an iPod and listen through the car stereo that way. I also ripped CDs to flash drives and listen through the USB port in another car, and I listened that way when traveling overseas in rental cars. There are a few cars that are still sold with CD players, but the number is dwindling to almost nothing.

I keep a pocket camera in each car. That way if something comes up...I have a camera. I have a Canon in my car
( That sounds dangerous) and a Nikon in my wife's car.

What pocket cameras do you keep in your cars? Some of the ones discussed in this thread cost from near, to well over $1000 dollars. Where do you live? Temperatures in the summer where I live hover between 100 and 110 F. I would imagine that it's more like 120 to 130 in my car when it's parked outside. I don't keep anything of value in my cars. My phone is my "just in case" camera. If I'm going out for the purpose of taking pictures, I'll take a "real" camera.

When I purchased the G7 it whittled down to a choice between the Canon versus Sony. The Sony had a larger zoom range while the Canon lens was more than a stop faster. The faster Canon lens tipped the scale for me.

I've been shooting my pocket-sized Canon Powershot G9Xii more than any other of my film & digital cameras. At 20MP capturing in RAW, with IBIS, it does a wonderful job, better than my phone. Both Canon and Sony offer these cameras, sized roughly the same as a deck of cards.

I have the G7X II. It has a slightly longer zoom and may be slightly larger, but the specs are otherwise the same. Great camera. I use it a LOT.

A large window popped up on my screen from OneDrive. It wants to back up my computer. I clicked on Start, and it did what I suspected. It said I have to buy more storage. I don't think so. What surprised me was that there were no choices of what I wanted to back up. It began with Folders, and it was going to back up all folders. I guess their goal was to get me to pay a "small monthly fee," so more the folders the better.

I think that the complete backup feature isn't the same as the automatic folder backup feature of One Drive where you can choose what folders you want backed up/synched. I let One Drive keep a backup of my Desktop and nothing else. The complete backup is for catastrophic failure and restoration to a previous state.

As for Google Drive, it isn't free past 15 gigabytes. I'm already getting warnings that I'm close to the limit and that I can buy more storage.

Am I mistaken in believing that the MS full backup feature can be placed somewhere else besides One Drive?

Sounds like you have great equipment and if you're going to print I could see the need not only for newere cameras and lenses but a new high quality printer. If this is the case I would say a Fuji GFX 150 with a set of prime lenses and maybe a zoom or two would surface. Now printers, a lot of really high quality 24" to 72" 12 color printers out there from Epson and Canon plus a few others, Dye Sublimation is also a possibility. However if you're not printing examine what you have right now and if the shutter count on the bodies is less than 200k it's probably a juse excessive accusation.

Considering what goes on in today's world, I fear the FBI might not see the intended humor of my sarcasm and upon reflection, it was probably inappropriate.

I was trying to be funny, but it's true that you have to watch what you say these days. It can be misinterpreted.

The great thing about this thread is that it didn't devolve into a heated discussion about gun rights, which would have certainly sent it to the attic. Everyone was polite to one another. I think that counts for something, and I did learn a lot about what people keep in their camera bags aside from a gun. Interesting thread.
