Nikon 18-140mm sharp and clear nice colors "walk around" lens
Sigma 17-50mm sharp, fast for indoors
Tokina 11-16mm just got this took a few shots think I'll have lots of fun with it
Nikon 50mm 1.8 for portraits
Nikon 75-300mm an old push pull zoom, metal and heavy with a built in tripod collar I snagged for $99. I tried out both the 55-300 and 70-300 and my wife bought me a 55-200 the 75-300 is better than all of them and it auto focuses on my D7100

Yea refurbished is fine. I have bought 3 refurbished lenses from Adorama and Cameta. I can't tell them from new. They both have warranties 90 days and 1 year. I get new bodies and refurbished lenses.

Thought I'd get a macro and decided on the Tokina 100mm to go with my 7100. Well I took it out for a spin and am really disappointed. The lens is sharp but it focus hunts like crazy even with the limit switch engaged. So annoying. I called Tokina customer service about the issue and the guy said "oh that's typical for that lens/body combo you just have to move around to find the sweet spot". Huh? I found that a very bizarre answer. Returning it today !!

Hey RD I have the 7100 and use a 18-140 as my "walk around".I was using a Nikon 35mm 1.8 for indoors and tight spaces but needed something that allowed for more flexibility. Picked up a Sigma 17-50mm and tested it against the 35 at the same focal length and the Sigma was better. The 35 is very shap and best suited for group shots in my opinion.

Thanks for the quick answers guys. As for the 70 being kinda shot my plan is to use for stationary objects not really close up. Flowers, portraits, people, objects. Looks like I'll give the 70 or Tonkia 100 a shot. Just can't get over the glowing reviews I have read about the 70.

Hey Hoggers, looking for a Macro lens for my 7100. I was trying to decide between Tonkia 100mm, Tamron 90mm or Nikon 105. researched all three and have narrowed down to the Tonkia or the Tamrom then I discovered a Sigma 70mm Macro and have read glowing reviews about it. Anyone have experience with the 70? It is more of the focal length I want. Thanks

FYI Cameta Camera has a 1 year warranty on used and refurbished. I have bought from them service and products are outstanding. Maybe it's just me but I stick to buying new bodies and refurbished lenses if I'm going that way.
