I live in Buffalo New York and have been to the Falls a bunch of times. Your best shots will be taken from the Canadian side. Niagara On the Lake is a great place to visit. If you go on the Maid of the Mist boat, be prepared to get wet and have your camera prepared if you take it. Check out the casino is Niagara Falls USA, it's a good time...

Over the years I have purchased refurbs from Canon, lenses and a camera body. Have had only one issue. Their customer service is the best. Sent the lens back, they actually called me and explained the problem, fixed it are returned it the next day. All under warranty. It works flawless. Do not hesitate to buy refurbs from Canon, I believe they're better than new as a person is actually touching the problem and addressing the issue. Enjoy your new camera.

If you're using a desktop PC install a card reader card into it. My last 3 PC desktops I had a card reader installed when I purchased them. The last one I purchased was just over a year ago and HP wasn't sure if they still we able to install a card reader that supported CF cards but were able to do so. Over many years I have never bent a pin. The throw when inserting the card is shallow versus an adapter which to me seems longer and more apt to bend a pin. I have a Lexar adapter which is probably the best I have tested and use it when traveling as needed but prefer carrying enough CF cards so it's not needed.

I shoot Canon but pretty sure the same applies for Nikon. Yongnuo is a great quality flash. Bought a pair of Yongnuo (speedlights) YN685's. Have a YN622(C)-TX Wireless Controller I use for off camera flash. These work equally well on my T5I, 5D and 7D mark II. The quality is as good as my Canon speedlight. The cost for this setup is less than the cost of one Canon Speedlight. ETTL to me is a must. Research your options that will best fit your needs. Yongnuo has become my flash of choice.

That's a great statement. Over many decades I've purchased a few. Jumped into the digital camera market with the original Digital Rebel, that camera was a work horse and gave me many great exposures. Than it was time to upgrade to something newer and greater. Purchased a 5D Mark 1. Great camera, easy to use, great results. Liked it so much I purchased a 5DII, big let down to me sent it back in a few weeks. The 5dIII came out and I said not this time, I'm waiting. Crop frame, full frame where do I do from here. Purchased a 7D MarkII. Love the 10 FPS for sports this camera shoots (do a bunch of sports) great with both full and crop frame lenses. Oh also have a T5I, use it for vacations with a 55-250MM lens and get great results, camera and lens is light weight and easy to fly with. End result my favorite is the 12 year old 5D1. Are our cameras not good enough? If you want the latest and greatest in the Canon world get the 5DIV. I can tell you this if my 5D 1 takes a crap and is not repairable I will hunt for another of the same model. All depends on your needs (and wants)....

Had issue with Sirius XM after over 10 years, Had it in my truck and home... I replaced antennas on the truck and years ago purchased an outdoor antenna attached to my roof that worked awesome. Was getting all good signals in home and vehicles. Last year I cancelled their service and keep getting sweet deals in the mail monthly asking me to reactivate my receivers. Paid no attention to them ..Well After a year I'm still getting Sirius radio at no charge on one of my receivers. OOPS someone forgot to deactivate one of my receivers...At this time I'm not going to reactivate anything. Buffett and Stern are coming in strong both home and Truck. Just a a pain to keep changing the same receiver. Good luck with them but they will bargain with you....

There are a couple deal breakers to me with the 6DII. AF focus points focused to the center, single card slot. Personally I would rather use a faster CF card than a SD card, dual card slots always give you a great backup, cards do go corrupt and shooting 200 pixs and finding only a few or none are on the card makes ones days a bust, this has happened to me and thank god I had that extra card in there. Do like the tilt, touch screen of the 6DII. This is an improvement over the 6D, but I feel for the price you can get a better deal by either buying a used 5DIII or a 7DII (crop but 10FPS). My opinion is putting your dollars into good lenses. If one is looking for this to be their first FF camera it's a good choice but I would stay away from the kit lens and purchase Sigma lens of the same type or better. Canon makes great glass but so does Sigma and Tamron. This all depends on your pocket book and needs.

Been using CC for a couple years. Cost I pay by the year. Nice they update often, lightroom is a great program and I use it a lot. How often do you use it? Is it worth the cost? If you're using it a few times a month maybe not. Grab the copy of the older Photoshop or Gimp and use your cameras software for free. For me the price of CC is reasonable as I get my use out of it. If the monthly or annual cost is a consideration maybe you should consider other options.

For the price you won't go wrong with the Yongnuo Yn685. I have 2 and they have not failed me yet.

7DMKII , Own one and love it. I shoot a lot of sports and for a crop sensor camera I get great results with my tamron 70-200mm f2.8VC lens and at 10 fps you might only like 1 or 2 shots but you have those 1 or 2 that are outstanding. Have shot a lot of nature shots, recently at a state park near Sarasota Florida. Great nature shots including many shots of gators in and out of water, most came out where I was very pleased. Pair that camera with the 70-200f2.8, a 24-70f2.8 and a nifty 50 and you have it covered. I like the 24-70 for indoor family shots. This has made my 5DMIII sit on the shelf for any sports action shots.

I have read many photography books. All of which has helped me along my digital journey. Found the most helpful to me was Tony Northrup's How to create Stunning Digital Photography and Lightroom 6/CC. Great reading and lot of good tips. Easy to understand and lots of video included for a very reasonable cost.

A few months ago I purchased a pair of Yongnuo YN685's and a YN622. So far they work great and the cost was far less than the Canon Speedlite flashes. I'm very happy with the 685's.

I have a pair of Yongnuo 685 Speedlites and a Yonguno 622c-tx flash controller. They work as good as my Canon Speedlite, the cost of this entire setup was less than one Canon Speedlite. You might have a defective unit.

I have a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 my favorite walk around lens. Use a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 USM VB also. Use the Tamron for sports shots. I love both of them equally. Both Sigma and Tamron are great glass, pleased with both. Think you would be happy with either brand...

My head is ready to explode after reading this thread. There are Sony, Pentex, Oly, Nikon and Canon users all chiming in. Your choice of camera gear is always the best in your mind but guess what this guy is just starting out. Lots of good input from each brand BUT does he need full frame at this time or will crop do the job? What budget does he have? I've been doing photography for 4 decades and yes Canon and Nikon in my opinion are the best as I have shot both. When the 300D came out I purchased it to get into digital photography. Yes what feels good in the hands is important but understanding the menu and camera is important also.

Once we decide on and camera brand we upgrade lenses and most good glass is not cheap. After a 50mm, a 24-70f2.8, and maybe a 70-200mm f2.8 are purchased for a certain brand camera we are married to that brand because of the investment we have made in glass.

Decide which brand camera you want to go with first and advance from there. Both Canon and Nikon are the best. The guys here will argue forever which is the best, there is no true answer, they are both great cameras. The plus with Canon is you can use both crop and full frame lenses on their crop sensor cameras with great results.
