I have the Canon DPP (on DVD) that comes with the Canon DSLRs. It does deal with RAW. But with no written explanations as to how to use it. Is there any printed matter covering this situation? I'm sure there's U-Tube videos on this, but I do a whole lot better with a book in one hand and computer in the other.
Thanks

Thank you very much, Bryan. That is exactly the kind of comparison I was looking for. And from a guy with experience with both. Your answer is much appreciated.

The OPs deal was on local Craigslist.

Not sure your "of course" helps prove anything. And "different cameras" either for that matter. I have read a LOT of opinions of just how outstanding the FZ1000 bridge camera actually is. And my experience with mine shows it's no slouch.
Am really looking for remarks from those with actual experience with both of these specific camera systems.

I know the stats and specs of both, and actually only recently purchased the FZ1000. But just saw a good deal for a nice A6000 + 55-210 lens at a very attractive price, and was wondering if the Sony had a better general IQ reputation than the FZ1000. Would really appreciate hearing from those with actual experience with both cameras, if such folks might exist here. Thanks much.

Another "vote" for the Panasonic FZ1000. It's a 2.8-4 aperture camera. Does a good job in lower light.

Fair enough. I'd like to spend under $500 shipped for one of these lenses. I have seen them sell for under this amount, so know they can be found for under $500. Problem is, I wasn't interested in one of those at that time. Now, I'd like to trade away 3 current lenses; replacing them with one 24-105mm.

Thanks for the offer, but I really want a lens with a bit more reach. Hence my interest in the 24-105 L

Cosmetic condition not an issue. But condition of glass and mechanics MUST be top-notch.
Respond with condition and best (AKA..lowest acceptable) price via PM.
Thank you.

You guys seem to feel that the feeling of one or the other should be the main criteria for making the choice. If that's really the only significant difference, than I personally would opt for the T2i.
Thanks to all for opinions, and feedback.

My choice is down to the Canon T2i and SL1. I know the basic info on both. And understand that one of the main advantages of the SL1 is it's smaller size. So aside form that, what would be your personal recommendation and why? Thanks for your thoughts, and opinions. Please restrict your comments to these specific cameras.

Don't want to highjack this thread, but am interested in this particular lens, and would hope that responders to the milky way question might also leave a brief comment on this lens in general. Thanks

Looking to purchase a very lightly used Canon 55-250mm lens...the STM version. Prefer to have both Canon caps, hood and box if possible.
Could offer my EOS-M gear in trade if interested.
Kindly shoot me a PM if selling (trading) one such lens.
Thanks
Bob

I agree with the others suggesting the FZ1000. Check it out to see if size really matters. It is truly a fine performer. You would be very happy with the results. And the 25mm to 400mm zoom lens will cover most of your travel needs. But it is the size of a DSLR. Just remember, there would be no lens changing with it, though.

I have a lightly used Canon EOS-M mirrorless camera, along with a superb, and highly respected 22mm f2 lens. Also included is the Canon lens adapter allowing for the use of Canon EF and EF-S lenses to attach to the EOS-M and work in full auto mode. Comes with 2 batteries, charger, strap, manual, and box. Everything works perfectly. Asking $275.00 OBO shipped USPS PRIORITY in the U.S. I am the original owner. Am thinning out some gear, so something needs to go. Recently acquired a Panasonic FZ1000. Now that one seems to see most of the action. So now my interchangeable lens gear is going.
